5:27 the green wire is the ground, that is connected to the body of the fan. The other green wire is connected to the mount. The mount and the body has separate ground wires going to each because the ball joint is not conductive. Thanks for the video.

Wow Becky Thank you sooooo much. This exactly the situation I have. The same tongue and groove ceiling. White too lol. I have a can light and thought I was going to have to put a cross bracket in the ceiling, somehow. Didn’t realize I could screw the bracket that came with the fan directly into the ceiling. Super easy. You are the best. 👍

The fan has been preforming great 👍! It moves all that humid air 💨 with ease and looks great too!

Awesome video! Production value alone beats 99% of the videos on YT. So many videos the person tries to install something with one hand and video the process with the other. Also, I I would also like to thank you for not using the word "actually" 500 times during the video which is another thing video producers can't seem to get away from. You have proven GOOD CONTENT isn't the only thing a great video requires. (I once worked for an advertising firm doing all their videos and some copy) NOW, off to install 2 ceiling fans my wife bought, which will be needed once finished cause it's 90 degrees here. Thank you again for sharing and the great video.

Wow, thank you for the comment Bruce! After making several of these videos I understand why people have production teams. It’s extremely hard to make this content, work the job, then sit for hours to edit and put together a video. I have since started a business renovating kitchens a baths and sadly no longer have the time to make this kind of content. One tip I will share though about fans- I’ve since installed many more since the video was made. Don’t go cheap. The cheap fans tend to be harder to install or require more finesse. The pricier ones go in way easier for the DIY’r. Good luck with your project!

Thanks, Becky.. I’m going to install a fan in my alumni wood patio.. do I have to have specific crews for the roof beam where I screw in the fan..?
@kennybecky11083 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Roy. I’m not sure what you mean by “crews?” But if you have to instal the recessed bracket into the ceiling (if it doesn’t already have it) then just make sure you fasten it to a stud. This type of bracket does not come with the fan, it’s sold separately. If that’s not what you are referring too and you just mean the fan bracket. That will come with the fan you buy and is specific to the fan you are hanging. Good luck with your project!

Do you know if the housing is connected directly under a 2x4 or nailed against the side of a 2x4. I have same light fixture and mine is nailed to the side and I don't think its enough support for a fan.
@kennybecky11083 жыл бұрын
I honestly don’t know, the ceiling bracket was already installed by builder and they are normally rated for 35-50lbs. You can re enforce it with a second 2x4 if you are unsure or consult an electrician to be absolutely safe.

Great job on the video. Did the fan make any difference out in an open space like that? Trying to decide if it's worth it or not. Definitely looks better. Thanks

Thank you for your comment! Yes, it does make a difference especially when there is no breeze. The light is also nice and bright!
