To those running in to issues with errors saying "You need at least Windows 10" you need to make sure that the Wine version being used is "Proton Experimental". If you are running it via Lutris that default is Wine 8 I believe. I am not really sure how he loaded Battle Net in Steam as a non-Steam game. That part gets skipped over in the video. I got it working by adding Lutris as a non-Steam game -> setting the right trackpad to be a mouse w/ click -> Clicking on Battle Net to launch. Making sure that the Wine configured in Lutris was Proton Experimental seemed to fix things for me.

You don't need keyboard and mouse , holding steam button turns right track pad in to a PC mouse and steam x is keyboard in desktop too

Work around for keyboard and mouse issue would be to type out your username and password on a doc file or some where you can just type it and copy it, then paste it into the proper spots in the login screen.

I followed the steps perfectly until battlenet was installed. After that and when I tried to relaunch battlenet I got an "Incompatible Wine version detected" error. It mentions that "The Wine build you have selected does not support Fsync". Any ideas how I can fix?

@@SuperTedGB I had gotten a prompt when I tried to open it that have a box you could select to force open it, But you'll more then likely run into the non supported OS error I did once I got everything else to work unfortunately.

@@-emvisy-8414 Yes. I reinstalled battlenet, kept the game and this time i DID not login to bnet during installation. I dont know if that was the cause but it works now.

you could do a 40 FPS limit with 40 Hz and 10 watts and up the graphics to high/medium and it will run solid and feel great with the 40hz frametime, this would greatly increase battery life and temps even further

Very neat. I usually play plugged in, so I don't mind running at 15 watts. The heat/fan noise isn't as much of an issue since I have a rear case cover that has a built in TEC that does a surprisingly good job of keeping temps down. Very cool that it is running well on the Deck. I hadn't gotten around to installing it yet, so I'm really happy you put this up as I now know it won't be a complete disaster. So thank you for that, lol... Edit: So yes, that was a much easier way of doing than I had been going about it previously. And wow, it runs fantastic on the deck. I did bypass the high-res texture pack to save the 40+ GB of space. As small as the screen is, I really didn't think it was necessary. Definitely worth the thumbs up on the video. Thanks for putting this together.

Tried this many times and it keeps saying the wine is incapable. Btw you don’t need a keyboard and mouse, works with touch and just the normal way.

The problem with new KZfaqrs is you don’t do it the normal conventional way. I’m not going to have the game on a usb file and transfer the game onto my steam deck… why didn’t you just do it the normal way like pretty much everyone whose going to be watching your video and instal that way. So dumb really. Off to find another KZfaq video who will show me how to instal it without unconventional situation. Gl on your channel 🙄

This method didnt work for me, always shows Windows 10 latest version error, no matter what I do. So video is uselss for me. I am trying another method without extra apps, all using only steam libraries. I found video named: "How To Play Diablo 4 On Steam Deck! Full Setup Guide And 60 FPS Gameplay!" It works for me.

I tried this today and it worked great for me. The only problem was when I originally launched Battlenet through the steam game mode, the play button wasn't visible for Diablo 4. Then I launched it in desktop mode and it worked fine. Now when I go back to the steam deck game modes I can just do the quick lunch after launching at once on desktop mode

i havn't tried the game on sdcard, i usually keep older games or emu games on sdcard, stuff that doesn't require high speed data. for me i would just get the cheap steamdeck and upgrade the nvme drive

Just got the 512gb Oled model..... Cant figure out loading roms and such to emulate so thats a bust, downloaded and paid $10 for a verified game (Mini Ninjas) and it wont load past the first screen before crashing. Want to get Diablo 4 for it and pull my character from my xbox for on the go playing..... And this seems hella convoluted and confusing just to play the damn game... Really thinking my $600 purchase of the deck was a mistake... Bummed

I'm having some trouble with my Steam Deck. I have the 64GB model with an external SD card. I can install games on it, but the screen freezes randomly when I try to play them. It took 5 mins to load into the game, I also experienced screen freeze when I open the item menu.
