The 14-15 Sierra with projector headlights can be a tricky vehicle to install aftermarket headlight bulbs into due to it's use of PWM and CANBUS systems to monitor and control the headlight functions. Now by using the all new GEN 5 HID conversion kit from GTR Lighting it's a simple plug and play install!

Just installed these in my 2015 GMC Denali 3500HD. I also put in the Supernova V4 Yellow fog LED bulbs. WOW !! What a HUGE Difference Thank You Headlight Revolution. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thanks for the suggestion on the fog light bulbs. I was looking for something like a traditional fog light. I think people forget fog lights aren't meant to blind people but to cut through rain and fog lol.

My factory headlights on my 2014 GMC Sierra were absolutely the worst headlights I have ever driven with, so I installed the HID headlight conversion kit with the 6000 k diamond white bulbs, I am blown away at how awesome these work. Good job making such a quality product.

Purchased these to replace terrible factory headlights. Work great. Love em. Installation not bad at all. Video very helpful. Only suggestion I might have is to make silicon grommet a bit larger to accommodate a larger drilled hole. This would keep you from having to disassemble the plug to get it through the hole. Disassemble and reassemble of the plug was the only frustrating step in the installation. Support guys were great when I called with a couple questions.

Why cannot I find this on GTRs website? I can only find the 55w smart pwm dual beam slim HID conversion kit ? I want this kit for my truck BAD (2015 GMC Sierra Denali 3500 HD). Also does anyone know what the difference between the actual “bulb types” that are available thru the GTR Lighting website? Thanks for any help

Just installed the headlights and fog lights on my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 and everything works as it should. You just need to take your time and you'll have lights that are so much better then OEM factory. Thanks for your tutorial, no problems here. I'm very satisfied with the quality of these HID lights.

Just got these installed along with the Morimoto fog lights that go with it on my 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 1500! They look absolutely GREAT except it might need a bit of adjusting. They do not seem to blind anyone but they do seem like they focus too much in the middle. I could be seeing it wrong maybe! Will be installing the LED fogs tomorrow, so excited!

I just bought a 2015 gmc sierra and the buld that are in it are terrible but they look upgraded. They look led with a bunch of wide silver wire any idea if these are suppose to be good?

Just received my lights, and having issues with them. The bracket for the ballast is not the same as in video and does not have the white ground strap, there is a copper bult and washer in box with it what are they used for? Also after installing drivers side and checking to see if it worked correctly the light does not turn on. I have double checked all connections and even tried the other ballets and still no light? Also what is the purpose of the 2 extensions that came in box are they needed or just extra in case of needing additional space? Please help installing in a 2015 gmc sierra originally equipped with halagon headlights.

did you ever get a solution? I have the same thing, is this the wrong kit? 2014 gmc 1500. i haven't tried install yet because i noticed this one doesn't have the ground wire or the the connector that comes apart to fit through the dust cap. It's also blue and black and diff color ballast

Iff you get the HID kit in a 6,000k color, they will match in color very well, and will be extremely bright!

What bulb type do I use for my 2017 gmc 3500hd? GTR lighting does not have a 9012 selection for the kit. Thanks

The reason we do not have a GTR Lighting kir for that vehicle is that they will not fit in that headlight application. We have all of the kits that we have tested to fit and work in that headlight listed there on the website, and I would recommend going with the SL1 kit by Diode Dynamics as that will fit and perform amazingly in that headlight application! Just an observation, the ground strap install wasn't shown but easily figured out. I'd drill a small hole, sand the paint off, screw in a self tapping sheetmetal screw and enjoy. Please advise about dielectric grease application on the HID bulb terminal connection. I'm also guessing a small dab will do it? How about dielectric grease under the ballast before it's locked into the retaining clips?

Dielectric Grease isn't necessary, but certainly won't hurt. If anything, apply some to the connectors to keep a healthy Waterproof connection. Applying under the Ballast isn't needed. Good point!

Ive read on some forums that the headlight itself would melt with aftermarket lights.. is it actually true or is this safe to install?? Please let me know cause I wana change my headight bulbs.

Oscar Peters The only time we have found this to be true is sometimes on aftermarket headlights with HID's because of lower quality products being used and in fog lights because of the lack of space inside of them and typically this is just with 55w ballasts. You will not have this issue with OEM headlights with projectors as long as everything is installed correctly.

At around 5:49 you can see the pink wire has a bare spot on it where the insulation is torn.

Hi there, I recently retro fit my 2014 Sierra with new projectors that requires D2H bulbs. What bulbs will work that are by gtr? I just order a set and juts realized they won’t fit because it’s a 9012.

Why are there no cables connected to the battery or relay harness what makes these lights different all other kits I have seen have really wire harness to battery this seems so much easier

That's specifically why we are recommending this particular product. The GTR Lighting Smart PWM ballasts work plug and play on these trucks. Truly a game changer. No battery wiring or relay harnesses needed.

You will need to drill out a 7/8" hole for the Pass-Through harness.

Yeah, the OEM Halogens were around 600Lux at 20 feet, and the 55W GTR Lighting Smart ballast gave us around 3,000 Lux.

ok just got this kit for my 2015 GMC Sierra 3500HD, not so plug and play. I had to spin the connector around cause it wouldn't light up. also had to keep fidgeting around with the connectors to work. My brackets for the ballast never came with the white ground wire. We'll see if it's brighter than the LED's i had in them tonight.

GMC 2014 Iwould like to give someone some help if i may, be careful when plugin this kit to the factory light plug. reason i say. there is no line up pin and if the little pins don't line up they will bend and the plug will still go all the way together but you will think the bulb is bad. . i thought i had a bad bulb and after hrs. of thinks no way this new bulb is bad i looked in at the pins on the one that wasnt working and sure enough that was it i straightened them out and had light Thought that was problem straighten pins plugged light in it came on so i installed it NO LIGHT .took it out hook to ballast no light now, im just going to have to get new bulb try 2 ballast same thing

Take the pins out of the connector that plug into the factory wiring. Don't use the plastic plug but the metal pins directly into your OEM wiring

@@HeadlightRevolution I figured out what the above comment meant. I plugged the pins directly into the OEM connector and they work. Now I have to figure out how to make sure they stay connected since they will/can pull right out.

@@mikez377 A good hold I use is pretty simple, but it works perfectly and has for the last 2 years. It's simple, but wrap it up in tape. You could get some heat shrink big enough to fit the connector in, shrink fit that, then tape over it to ensure no condensation can get in.

What color temp would be recommend in the state of Oregon for hid and led?

For Oregon, going with 4300k HID would be your best option. That color will perform well in rain and snow.

*The link to the kit depicts exactly what I received.* This kit just arrived on my porch. It does not come in a "box kit" like in the video. 3 boxes in a brown shipping box and no brackets for the ballasts. No big deal. The wiring looks different, the o-rings are completely different looking. They're skinnier. We're still waiting for my block to get back from the machine shop and then the assembly before this forged engine goes back in the truck. I can't install the HID kit yet. I hope that I don't have problems with this hardware.I wouldn't question it if the kit and its bulbs and wiring and thick o-ring looked like what's in this video. Yes, that is correct. The HID unboxing at the beginning was with an H11 HID kit. But the actual install was with the 9012 HID kit.

You better believe it. 2014 GMC Sierra lights suck. Would you rather I crash into you head-on because I can't see a goddamned thing at night in the rain? Every 5th car has been blinding me out there for the past 10 years. You learn to deal with it.

Just be ready for people blinded by headlight to hit their bright lights. Nobody likes to be blinded by over bright low lights.

texling93 they’re projectors headlights mostly what hid Is recommend for. if you aim them correctly you won’t blind people. But if you install hid in reflector headlights that’s a different story..
