You should used 3m's adhesion promoter on both surfaces before applying the tape

JB weld plastic bond is better than 3m tape It bonds to bumper permanent so you know

Unfortunately I don't remember, but you don't need anything specific. Not to big or small.

I can't get the link to work, but I used 3M Super-Strength Molding Tape, 03614, 1/2 in x 15 ft, 1 Roll.
