Very nice. I bought plates that take up the whole wing(you need to remove the hood to install) I did use rivets and also silicone to seal it up. My 90 is black so there isnt much contrast, but black plates on the silver defender is gorgeous. You absolutely need to buy the plate for the hood!

Oooh, that sounds good as well, black on black! Yeah, might have to do that😍

Black chequer plate gives a great contrast, have it on my 110DC for same reason !

After owning and restoring 5 series 3's I bought my first Defender- and Im gobsmacked that people want to walk around on it- They cost a fortune here in NZ- and people want to stand on my Defender! Why?

Looks very smart. I would leave the bonnet as is without any checker plate on it.
@Td5Adventures3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! Yeah, aesthetically it looks better without the bonnet plate but practically it is better with it on. We'll see!

Hi, is there no risk of galvanic corrosion because you used different material together? What about using wellnuts to fix it? Please advise
@Td5Adventures Жыл бұрын
The wings are aluminium, the chequer plate is aluminium and so are the rivnuts so it should not be a problem. The screws themselves were treated so there is really little risk of any corrosion between the materials. Or is there something I missed?

How about water ingress under the plates....as you showed they were quite indented....any worry about standing water underneath?
@Td5Adventures3 жыл бұрын
I would not really worry about that, it's painted aluminium so there's not much that can be damaged by moisture there. If it is a concern you can always seal the plates with some sealant 😊

@Td5Adventures3 жыл бұрын
Thanks!! I had a snow cowl on the 130, we'll see if this one gets it too😊 next up: I'm still struggling with the injectors leaking...

@@Td5Adventures i watched your video i cannot remember did ypu use genuine or after market - britpart as i've seen on other forums they say use genuine
@Td5Adventures3 жыл бұрын
@@richarddraper7896 I've put genuine ones in now but still leaking 😉 it seems to me like it's a myth the genuine ones are better. Why would they even start to leak if genuine is so good🤣🤷🏻♂️
@richarddraper78963 жыл бұрын
@@Td5Adventures sounds like it could be injector not seated correctly or there is different sizes of O rings even geniune have you still got other O rings ? could try changing each one see if they pop back in tight bit of a nightmare job
@Td5Adventures3 жыл бұрын
@@richarddraper7896 yeah I'll have to try that! Gonna swap positions between them and see if they still leak in the same positions to determine whether it's the seal or head. Clever idea swapping some seals out for old ones! I've saved them all👌🏻 I know they're properly seated, they all "clicked" in very clearly and very very tightly..
