In this video we will install our freshly rebuilt 2.0
Some things to look out for but otherwise fairly straight forward.
Special thanks to the URO Parts team for their support and help with our engine bay seal!

Congratulations part 1! Can't wait to hear it run! Great video again and as to URO, I went for a tour of their facility last weekend. Amazing operation that scientifically tests every part they sell. Was very eye opening.

Getting closer and closer Mike.. this looked like a real nerve-racking moment to me.. Your attention to detail has been an object lesson in car restoration.. no short cuts, no "near enough is good enough".. I'm sure they're all watching this at the factory!

Mike on early cars, the oil tank would occasionally drain into the sump. There is a check valve added to the pick up line to the tank later on early cars. if yours does not have one I would add it..I would be at the connection of the line to the case, pretty simple to add and will save many start up headaches later. .

Awesome Mike. Am about to install the driveshafts in mine so be interested to see how you tackle that if possible! Good luck!
@MikesRestorations
@MikesRestorations Жыл бұрын
Hello Anthony, There is no video work on the half shafts as they were very simple but messy to install. New complete units with new replacement hardware. They install easily if the wheels are off. Secure one bolt into the transmission side first and then one bolt into the wheel side finger tight. Making sure you have adequate Molly grease, Its extremely messy and grease oozing out everywhere but not bad to install. You can rotate by hand as to add the other bolts tho both ends. Once everything is in place you can then begin tightening and final torque. A long bar wedged between the lugs and the ground will stop the shats from turning as you tighten and torque. I hope this helps! Good luck!!

Who makes those jackstands? Or did you make them?? those are confidence inspiring.
@MikesRestorations
@MikesRestorations Жыл бұрын
Hello Ocavant They are new style heavy duty from Harbor Freight. 22ton and extremely heavy but I think the design is so much more stable for any heavy work. Cheers!

@@MikesRestorations Mike, thank you. I’ll look for them. There is nothing more important when you are working solo and without a lift then good solid stands. Most of their previous offerings did not have good pad designs let alone those jankie pawl issues they had, and issues with collapsing. Those you have look like they would even work on soft asphalt. Every once in a while Harbor freight puts out a really good product in the midst of all the junk. Also just a note how impressive your attention to detail is I can only aspire to do that, thanks for the inspiration!
