This video shows you how to install a disconnect shut off switch to 2 RV batteries in parallel. This switch worked perfectly and stopped the (parasitic loads) that would drain your battery when not in use.
The installation was fairly straight forward. Make sure to avoid using installation screws that might damage your battery by being too long.

We own a 267 bhs jayco jayflight Rocky Mountain edition and this battery switch worked on 2 6v batteries in series.

That is a horrible way to make a battery cable, take your time and get the right parts for the job

Why did you wire it in series??

Because they're 6v batteries, so wiring them in series creates a 12v system.

Why did you put it in the negative side? Should be on the positive (red) where battery power comes out.

If you look at Grainger and McMaster-Carr battery cut-off switches, they are all designed for the NEGATIVE polarity. This tells me the disconnect should be installed on the negative terminal.
