It was an interesting kit! Yeah it turned out really well with the 3000k bulbs. The 2700k bulbs were nice, but it didn't quite have the "wow" look.

Wondering if anyone purchased this Volt kit from Costco and figured out a way to install the transformer to the wall, securely? The mounting feet place the transformer too low (I’m in S Florida and it’s too damp to do this) plus the stakes don’t secure the box to the house block walls (we are in hurricane zone and last thing I need is to have to disconnect and remove the transformer during hurricane prep). Ideas are appreciated! Thanks!

I went to my local Ace hardware store and bought two construction structural corner/angle braces. They look similar to this one: www.acehardware.com/departments/hardware/angles-braces-and-brackets/braces/5704135 They were the exact size necessary and had holes that lined up perfectly with the threaded mounting holes on the Costco transformer. I did have to drill them out a bit larger to accommodate the bolts in the mounting kit -- no big deal. I then drilled into my stucco wall and used pklastic anchors and screws to mount the transformer directly on the wall.

Thanks for not showing how to put it together, mount transformer in ground, wire transformer and wire the lights. Other than missing the 4 main reasons to watch your video , it was pretty good.

He has multiple other videos how to setup the details. To mount the transformer in the ground, you screw the two stakes to the transformer then push the stakes into the ground. Do you also need to be shown how to tie your shoe laces before you go outside?

So far this is what the feeback I've gotten. 1. Unique (Unique is a lighting company) offers a clear finish that has held up well (special order) There is also a new satin copper as well. 2. Lindseed oil Let me know if any of these options help!

To install a Costco kit? If you purchase all the materials, I charger around $700 - $1400 depending on how many lights and where they are located.

Towards the end of the video I showed that I mounted the transformers on the ground like it said in the instructions... I would have preferred to have it mounted on the wall.

Did you have to use those hubs? Or were you able to run all the fixtures to the transformer?

I prefer to run 1-3 main wires (depending on the amount of lights), and have the lights connect to the main wires. If you run every fixture wire to the transformer you won't have enough room to fit all the wires. Also, running all the fixture wires to the hubs just makes the yard or flower bed cluttered with wires.

I just received the kit today, and they have updated the mounting options. There is now also wall mounting hardware now included.

What you mean by 300k? And did they have the 300k at Costco?

3000k is the color of the bulb light it produces. Costco and most lighting stores have a 2700k bulb light. I usually just buy my own lights with 3000k color and replace the 2700. If you need some bulb recommendations, theres a lighting recommendations PDF in the description of all my KZfaq videos.

3000k temp light color much too brite white. Some HOAs limit to under 3000k color temp in compliance with Dark Skies regs.

I've never heard of an HOA not okay with 3000k, but I wouldn't put it past some HOAs.
