Showing off is said to be a fool's sense of glory. That is certainly true in the sport of boxing. A split-second mental slip can have terrible consequences. It's always interesting to witness showboating fail badly in combat sports, whether it's due to a little dancing during the fight, trash talk in the ring, or during the weigh-in. Without further ado, here are the times when arrogant Fighters were destroyed by their opponents.
Boxing Mates provides original informative videos about the sport of Boxing. If you're already a fight fan, or you're simply curious about Boxing this channel is for you.

@@richardcranium-oz1qtI’m not defending Conor at all but he’s used to going 3-5 rounds max so of course he’s going to gas. And he was up against arguably the most precise puncher in boxing history who, while retired, wasn’t “old” and kept in shape at that time. Floyd will still school most if not all boxers his size let alone a striker coming into a ring for the first time. Conor thought striking was boxing and it’s not, they’re worlds apart. But then he got paid a retirement kind of sum so oh well lol. Floyd even now wouldn’t have lost to that McGregor and would have schooled him also. He’s just that good. I don’t even like Floyd lol.

Dumb comment. Conor has succeded in his own version of combat while being an insupportable gas bag, so his verbal diarrhoea this time around was a non-factor in the result. A professional in any combat sport will always take enough time to get the measure of an unknown adversary before turning up the heat, and that is just what happened here.

After the fight, he was taken to the intensive care unit at the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf because of the initial suspicion of a cerebral hemorrhage; A concussion, two facial fractures, a torn biceps muscle and a ruptured eardrum were discovered there as a result of Klitschko's many serious hits. Arthur Abraham was the guy who in 2006 kept fighting (and won!) with a broken lower jaw which made him look like "The Scream" from Edvard Munch. Jaw was broken twice in the 4th round and he kept going until the last round against a fouling opponent.

A lot of people trash talk in the ring to get into their opponents head, even though they do this their opponent stays calm which is a very important factor while being in the ring.

To be fair, and I am not a Connor fan, but he did go toe-to-toe with Mayweather for a good number of rounds in a code he is new to. Pretty good fight from that perspective. They both played the hype game though.

Some people did because McGregor brought a lot of brain dead people into the sport. I actually had an argument with one of them, gave up and said "Stuff it. I got $1000 that says McGregor doesn't have a chance" and he shut right up
