Yeah man it's always the guys that never have been in the gym or competing that make those kinds of judgements. I ran with an ex dlineman who was a super fast runner who could carry his weight like it was nothing. Lack of fat is great for instagram but really says nothing for power.

Agree, nobody can take a sumo wrestler in their game. They are very powerful with under appreciated skills and athleticism. However, they also generally can't actually fight outside of sumo rules. And their stamina does follow their physical appearance.

I can say there is something to people with body types that appear over weight and out of shape. There are some whos physical ability and toughness far exceeds expectations. I fought someone like this a long time ago. And on points I was kicking his ass but nothing and I mean nothing that I hit him with hurt him at all. I might as well not even bothered to strike at all. And once my opponent got ahold of me it was as if he had super human strength and tossed me around like a rag doll despite he wasnt that much larger than I was. I've never been so confused or defeated in all my life. I just couldn't understand it. Some people are just special in this regard. While I never went down or gave in. The fight ended clearly with my opponent the winner. Sometimes these rare intangibles will humble even the best of fighters. Its as if this guy was a tank and I was trying to defeat it with a bee bee gun.

Since there were no 3rd party witnesses it was my word against his. We both went to jail. The charges were dropped but the fact I was arrested still followed me in regards to job interviews and renewing my drivers license. I saw him for the first time recently, and he was fighting at 330lbs, heavier than these two clips showed him! But he still had very good hands, and threw knees and jump-kicks as well. Anyone know if the Klitchko - Fury fight was the only time Klitchko was the shorter fighter in any of his fights? The biggest upset shown here, in my opinion, was Ruiz defeating Joshua. The reason for the loss is the fear of confrontation, bragging, arrogance, lack of fighting spirit, the desire to actually win, and the lack of experience resulting from training.🤨

I had a friend in High School who wasn't that tall, about dead average, IIRC, around 5'8". He weighed over 300 pounds. He was an Anchor on our Cross Country team, and a running back on our FOOTBALL!!! team. He was also a Ballerino, and no one in the schooled ever made fun of that. Again. People forget that every step a Big Person takes IS Weight Training.

Only when there is no weight limit. Likw superheavyweight olympic and power lifters, each added kg of fat actually adds power. Its to do with the " folow " in the nervous system. When there is a weight limit, higher fat % reduces capacity.

Daniel Cormier was a pudgy short 265 lb wrestler that absolutely dominated the HW division. At only 5’11” he was way undersized. He only dropped to LHW because his teammate & training partner Cain Velasquez was UFC HW champ at the time. He still moved back up to HW later to capture the belt. Fedor Emelianenko is considered the MMA HW GOAT and was a pudgy unimposing man at 235 lb and 6’0”… much smaller than most in the division and someone that could have probably trimmed down to LHW. He had a 10 year run of dominance at HW and beat the best names of the sport at the time. Physique can be deceiving. There are quite many HWs that do not have the body of a figurine.

"I have been training you for six months you are getting bigger but the wrong way, what's up, are you following my Diet?" My amazement at the speed of large animals like bears and Hippopotamuses' as seen on youtube only lasted for a few weeks, then I figured it out, they are used to carrying that weight, they may not move fast all the time, but they are capable of it. I did not see any xx-xx-xx career cards so I'm guessing they were mostly "bouncers" who could take a punch and fought a very few times. There are no 20 -03 -02 's in the crowd.
