The Zvex is on my board and always will be tbh. I can amuse myself for hours playing ambient loops with this and a drip reverb. When trying to justify the cost I just added up how much my cable subscription was costing me while I slept, cancelled it and spent an entire winter laying down ambient tracks on soundcloud with the Zvex. I actually saved money ..and became a better player.

Perfect head-to-head...you look away and come back when you hear a sound that grabs you. Was the ZVex every time for me so I splashed on one the week after you uploaded this, and it has been pure inspiration ever since. So thanks!

What tunings do you use? I used to dabble a lot with open tunings once, but for the longest time I've just been "stuck" in standard and Drop-D. Think it's time to immerse myself in the huge ringing tones of openness again ☺

Sometimes I feel the opposite, that I’m so stuck with open tunings and should go back to standard for a while! But mostly I use EAEABE and DAEABE (which this video uses). I also like DADEAC# and DAEAC#E a lot

Another great demo, I have both of these and love them. I also have Shallow water and Hexe Melusine. I just cant get enough of that lo fi warble, sometimes running all of them at the same time. I want a warped vinyl and Deco too.

@@sifelaver I really like them both but the Melusine is much more subtle, it’s also twice the cost of a Shallow Water. I would recommend the Fairfield first, such a great sound!

@@bentstruments nice, thank you! i’ll check out some shallow water demos! i love the warble of the gen loss v2 and the crackle of the mesuline. put both in a simple easy to use pedal with a high pass filter and i’m all in!!

Cool. I just got the ZVex, but have had the Cooper. Both are really different, but if really like the warbles, the Cooper, IMHO, gets a lot more range of warbly-ness than the ZVex. Both are totally rad.

I haven’t tried the Dot Chaser but I’ve been super interested for a while. I might pick one up next time I can! But I will say, I absolutely love the Gen Loss, especially with the new noise mod

So this video is EAEABE with a capo on the first fret and another capo on the third fret for every string but the low E (so basically FCGCDG... weird, I know). The chords are just arpeggios of F9 and Am6

think i prefer the lofi junky, not a big fan of the whole "digital compression artifact" soundbut honestly the dry signal is pretty lofi already. nice playing!
