If you are a Christian, you do not give credibility to a person who dedicated a big portion of his life to teaching that the Bible is not reliable. David tried so hard to make Ehrman to agree with him that Islam is not trustworthy and received the agreement but at the same time received an embarrassment that the Biblical texts are equally unreliable as well.

I don't get the opps either as it's very common knowledge Jesus was not the first to claim to be the Jewish Messiah as even the New Testament named them. It's also common knowledge during that time the rulers like Caesar would see themselves as the "son of God" and sometimes even have claims of miracles surrounding them. The huge difference is everyone thought the Son of God would come like Caesar and not a poor man with no political power who was crucified on a Roman cross.
