Which Instax Printer have you got your eye on? Is it right for you? Should you buy the new Link Wide or the older SP3 or Mini Link?

Thanks, nice video. I really like the square format as I primarily shoot people and still life rather than landscapes, but the SP-3 so much more expensive than the other 2. Currently hoping for a good black Friday discount!

Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback. Yeah I agree, the square is format is super versatile and much better suited to the things you are shooting. I recently bought the Link Wide and it's great for printing youre phone pictures at a party and give them away to the person you took the picture of. It's a nice additon to my Instax Wide camera's (Fuji and Lomography) and my Lomography Graflock back.

@@bernieshore It arrived about one and a half week ago and I haven't used it yet. 2 days ago a 50-pack of Wide film arrived so I'm ready. I'm now waiting for better weather, it's wet, grey and dull here for the lasts 2 weeks. I'm curious what the Wide film is doing with a high quality lens since the Fuji Wide 300 camera isn't realy getting the best out of the film I think. The Graflock back is going to be used with my Graflex Speedgraphic and Crowngraphic.

just bought the linx wide! i always loved the wide format, but not the instax wide cameras. so the instax link wide printer is perfect for me!

Thanks for a useful comparison. I have the Instax Square printer SP3. I would buy the Instax wide, but I am disappointed Fujifilm has no app to print directly from my Apple Mac AND using a USB-C cable to the Instax Wide. For example, I find with my SP3, printing via WiFi has been a hassle with connection problems. All my photos end up on on my Mac. Another suggestion is a single app for all the Instax printers. The App for the SP3 (Instax Share) really needs a software upgrade.

Hey Brian, Yeah they used to have the single app for the SP2 and SP3 which made it easy to flick between. Is hard as all the cameras and printers have very different functionality now so the apps would be pretty deep. Might be cheaper to have separate ones.

Great informative video! Thank you. I’m wondering if the Wide Link has the capability of printing directly from my X100F..? I’ve tried to connect camera to printer but no luck so far.

I got the mini -- I like the compact size of the prints, and mini film is less expensive per print.

Hello sir, I already have instax mini lipay as i like voice qr code. But can i print the same as with the printer SP-3 or New square Link as i like square photos more but with the qr scanner on it? Like i click photos with liplay voice qr and print them from the SP-3 or new Square link

Hey! Tough one, haven't seen any rumours on the internet about a new square printer. Its a fantastic printer that does everything I need it to do, plus I actually like the styling.

I'm not sure the XT2 prints direct to the Mini Link as it does not have Bluetooth does it?

Hey Tim, thanks for connecting! we can still get it here in NZ but it may differ for other countries. You may have to look around on the net. I see what you mean, I did a quick search and it appears hard to find in US. Sorry I can't help much here.

I’ve been trying to find it as well. I tried calling Adriana Camera and they gave me the number to Fuji. Nobody there seemed to be able to help me. I’ll probably have to either get the wide or the canon SELPHY square.

@@sarahperrin5980 i got the selphy sq n nvr looked back. Prior to that i had the same concerns. As the sp3 has been ard for more than 4 yrs (at least for my country). I love the selphy sq too bcos of the print quality. It is true to colour. And bcos of its different technology and type of paper used, canon claims that the print outs can last a lot longer. (I hope!) Although i also do have the instax link wide, i cant help but still like the print quality on selphy sq a bit more. But bcos of the paper type, it doesnt have the feel of a "polaroid", than it is for instax film. Hope this is of any help 😊 Enjoy your printer! 😄

I think it's been updated to work with the X T series. As my XT 4 got the option to link with the INSTAX printer in a recent update.

ugh im still torn between these 3 format wise, I prefer square the most, then wide, then mini but considering the fact that the share sp3 is now 3/4 years old already, a new model can come out anytime soon for link wide, I worry that the film cost can add up and I might just print less for mini link, the format is just too small for me but you know, it's the most common(and cheapest) format as well, meaning that it is easier to stock up films and print more any advice?

It's a very tough decision. I understand the SP3 is old but its still a great printer. I love and use mine all the time but there is something exciting about getting something brand new with new tech. But I agree the square format is the most usable. Lets hope there is a new square camera/printer hybrid. Sorry I can't help, its just such a personal choice..

Definitely, It has all the current features. Its smaller so easy to travel with or to take to parties or events. The film is way cheaper than the Square or Wide film. It looks great. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one even though its a couple years old as it performs very well. Let me know if you have any questions about it :)

How long can I expect the prints to last? Years? Decades? Are they archival?

They last a very long time, I have had some of the images I had taken 5 years ago in the front of a shop window and they look the same/similar as the day they were taken. Ill see if Fujifilm have exact lifetime and let you know.

If im not wrong fuji claims they will last ard 7-8 yrs. I dont have any fuji printouts within that timeline so i cant vouch for it yet.
