Thank you so much, this video is priceless! I never understood how to thread the machine properly from the manual, but I finally got it here, as well as how to clean and take apart the machine. Thank you so much for this!

Thanks to your video I am rescuing my mother's Singer Genie 354, which she must have bought when I was a toddler. I have great memories of my mother using it to make the curtains of the family summer home in the north of Spain. Now that she has passed away, I miss her dearly and in her honor I will try to use it again to make the new curtains for the same house. Thank you very much for your excellent video.

I just today picked up a Singer Starlet from a second hand shop here in The Netherlands. It looks like a '74 model. The press-in mechanism on the hand wheel seems to have perished, but I'll see if it still works. Thank you so much for these videos. I'm curious to find out if I can get replacement bobbins and needles. I hope they're pretty standard and not hard to find. You've been a big help. Thanks so much!

This 2 part video series was so helpful - thank you! I was able to take everything apart, clean & oil, and put it all back together with this information. Now my almost 50 year old Starlet that had been stored in someone's garage and used only twice (reportedly, and I believe it) is sewing amazingly. I bought it on Ebay for £35, and I think I like it more than my Elna Stella (Lotus).

I’ve learned a bit about tension assemblies from watching this video. I hope to see your video where you take a tension assembly apart. Thank you for sharing these three videos and the details!😉

Thank you for three interesting videos of this very 70's Singer. The decor takes me back to the early 70's. It was really interesting because this is the first time I have seen these machines. I never saw this Singer in South Africa so I really enjoy it when something new pops up. You are so thorough with your way of working with the machine and I would still like to courier my Elna to you for a service. I think you would make a great teacher. Thanks

Magic eraser. Great tip. Thank You for the detailed explanation of the tension unit. I repaired mine and got it working but had no idea how it worked until this video. Mine also has black marks all over. I suspect it's from sitting in a closet and having boots and shoes thrown at it over several years. Thanks to your videos I have a Singer 495 Starlet up and running. Still scrubbing the black heal marks though.

I bought a second hand starlet 353 and serviced it with the help of your great video. I love the index. The sitch is perfect now! Only the machine is running while I am drawing up the bobbin thread. I pushed the round wheel angled. Any suggesting?

I managed to get the perspex "flower" panel to swing up to get at the casing screw on the far left, without dismantling the tension assy. (but I did remove the tension assy. on another machine) I like these machines alot, but they dont have a reverse that sews in the same stitch length backward. I am back in NL and still have that Tan Supermatic elna to put back together again, but I am so nervous and still AFRAID of it!! amateursewing
