I bought myself a BCA barrel, 5.56mm M4 profile, for about $40. I stuck that on a cheap Stag upper and BCG from their blemished bin and topped it off with a Del-Ton handguard and the cheapest gas block I could find from Brownells. It was my first upper build and I couldn't be happier. I use it for shooting steel cased stuff and similar cheap ammo as sort of a beater upper, in which it excels.
@lifeinastockwrangler3 жыл бұрын
I have several BCA and PSA uppers. I can say I don't buy them for accuracy but shorter range truck or cache guns. Im not saying they are not accurate enough, just saying I see a lot of people talk bad about them not achieving 1 moa and laugh. A 299$ complete upper does not have to hit 1 moa to be worthwhile. I am very happy with my BCA and PSA uppers.
@Kattbirb3 жыл бұрын
@@lifeinastockwrangler My build ended up at just over $260, including sights. The fact it doesn't reach 1 MoA really doesn't bother me in the least considering I built it for short range recreation and just to ensure I would have trigger time on my rifle in between classes, hunting or shooting for groups. In the end, it's a perfect platform to just buy up a truckload of steel cased stuff and not worry about wearing out good parts in another upper.

New subscriber here And you've earned it! I'm really into the details. Good presentation as well 💯 Now me..... I have caught so much crap in the past from my range buddies for going through the measures I do to make sure each build is on Point....but most importantly SAFE! They laughed about checking headspace, checking gas port, checking bore for true, checking upper to extension alignment, said Lapping was unnecessary. Etc etc. Now here we are.... I lap their recievers and find barrel or bolt issues for them. 😂 It all started when they would buy or build these 1500 dollar rifles with $1000 dollar + optics, and I would bring my "budget builds" to the range and most times out perform these guys. NOTE : I am always using excellent quality stuff, but I buy smart. Cosmetic blems, clearance, bulk, new product, discontinued, etc..... or I may have a buddy who really wants a flashy SS fluted barrel, and wants to sell his "crappy" looking CHF, chrome lined barrel for $50 bucks 😂. I have around 500 bucks in my latest "on a whim build." It happens. Don't judge. Built with lying around parts I had already purchased, including a 6.8 BCG I've had in the bin for 4 or 5 years now. And an awesome deal on Ammo, a handguard and a never fired 6.8 ARP match barrel. I was expecting around 1.5-1 MOA tbh. It's sub MOA all day long. Very impressed. And this is a Short Barrel build. Love when I am surprised. 👍 So, long story short...... Don't rush your builds, go through each step. At minimum you will have peace of mind. I see FTF and FTE along with ruined parts, and severe inaccuracies out of quality parts just as I do out of cheaper low quality parts. A bad apple, rushing, or a small inconsistency can be a.... or become a huge problem somewhere along the line. Sorry for the book y'all! Tactical stuff..... I'm a nerd for it. Y'all take care! God Bless! 🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏

The 3rd is still in load development and is at 7/8" grps, I am expecting similar grp size with the third as with the first 2. It seems foolish to me to just throw money at name brands when you can get good results from 'budget' components, if you do your homework, and pay attention in the build.

I built an Armalite AR10 over ten years ago while I lived in California, but it's been highly modified by myself after I moved to Tennessee. It's actually quite a Frankenstein build as the only true Armalite parts are the upper receiver, 24" inch stainless barrel, magazine catch, bolt catch, and the front and rear takedown pins. The lower is an Aero Precision, trigger is a drop in Timney AR10 variant, Magpul PRS buttstock, buffer tube, buffer and buffer spring, Radical Firearms nickel boron bcg, Midwest Industries 15" inch aluminum key mod handguard, LaRue pistol grip, and I believe a low profile VLTOR gas block. i've been watching alot of your videos. I find it informative and relaxing. I sure would like to learn all the proper techniques when assembling a full AR. I know assembling can be a slippery slope on Utube. Maybe you should post on Full 30. Thanks and keep the info coming.

I think he has like an hour long video where he assembles 3 lowers from 3 different parts kits and trigger mfgs. MrGunsNGear used to be an armorer or something, his assembly and maintenance videos are very good and no nonsense.
