In your delusional mind. The amount of users on the msfs platform has significantly surpassed the xplane community. That platform has brought many into the world of Aviation than laminar research ever will!

@Aviation i agree with all of this, minus the part where you stated that even P3D is better than MSFS. P3D is extremely outdated by now, and you need to lay down a lot of money into it to make it as realistic as MSFS is.

@Aviation Not everyone wants to be an airline pilot. Both of these sims have good in them for every type of flyer. Just pick the one that suites you. Simple!

A lot of pilots are aware of your comments, but the point is, they were happy with the XP10 and XP11 before MSFS2020 came out, and thanks to Laminar Research. Laminar Research must be happy for our future! Buy XP12 BETA and let's develop Laminar Research together!!! And the flight environment is a personal preference. No company can be defined as better. It has to do with individual computer specifications. In other words, it is enough to be satisfied with yourself, and MSFS must evolve as well!! If you love flying, you must buy the XP12 and MSFS 2020 together Just fly!!

You're allowed to enjoy the Instructor Panel but just FYI this is nothing new, this has been out for some time since XP10. As a matter of fact it looks the same as XP11 and I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same as XP10.

I played around with 11 on a Mac M1 Mini and old Mac Book Pro, really old MBP. It was fun but flying in Oklahoma, where I live, was rather boring. I was getting OK at take offs and landings in beginner mode and started to look for more of a challenge. I picked up a new MBP M2 Pro and purchased 12. What a difference! Loaded Europe and am flying the Swiss Alps. We are planning for an upcoming trip and the terrain is spot on with all the other mapping I have looked at. One question, I find the configuration menu challenging to read due to the white text. Can I change it?

As a pro trainer myself (lifecycle management of large, complex, high risk defence programmes) allow me to congratulate you Austin on this development and your passion for training. This will certainly help this XP novice to push the flying training envelope. PS can we have an Android version please?

Austin you should see if AOPA would do an article on this because this program could be an absolutely invaluable training aid and game changing tool to increase safety and pilot proficiency in the general aviation community (not to mention for professional pilots like myself as well) to keep skills sharp especially when time between real world flights grows for whatever reason.

That’s simply amazing ! Uh… Why don't I have the "Fronts" button which should be right after the "Wind" button to create thunderstorms? I'm using "Control Pad 1.08" on my iPad 12.5.7

Great idea- wonderful way to drag one of my non-flight simming local friends into this! But I'd need to find it for my Android tablet to do this. I could just imagine what kind of trouble someone who doesn't know what they are doing could possibly make for me, bwahahahahaha! 3:)

This is so cool! I downloaded it mainly for the Fronts option which I've always missed playing with since X-plane 10 or 9 can't remember exactly which and haven't been able to use that option since v11. But the fronts option is currently missing from the app after installing. Anyone know why?

One thing....Id like more options for maps on the instructor station....like an L-Chart so i can put the plane near a certain radial or fix. And a sectional option....that would be aweome.

I had it but it stoped working, when I went to delete the app to try to reinstall it. I couldn’t find it in the App Store to reinstall. Very sad hopefully they get it back up.

@@austinmeyer this is amazing how well it run on macOS, it’s crazy how much work has gone into each X-Plane release. My adventure with X-Plane started in 2016, when I found X-Plane mobile while looking for flight game/sim in the App Store, I was impressed with how well it ran on my 3rd gen iPad, then I became interested and found the rest. When I bought X-Plane 11 I did not expect it to run so well on my 4k Intel iMac on macOS, it works better than on Windows bootcamp and after that, I can't wait to try X-Plane 12 on upcoming iMac with Apple Silicone, not to mention your great X-Plane support page, I got my problem solved in less than 24 h, it’s amazing how good a job you and your team are doing, it’s nice to stand by and watch such a great project unfold

I've been using X-Plane as commercial flight simulation software since 2010, and unfortunately I have to say that the instructor station software, including the iPad version, has taken a HUGE step backwards. So much so that for the first time we'll be using 3rd party instructor station software. Even Austin has expressed his displeasure in the instructor station in v11+. I really hoped they would have rebuilt it in v12.

Now this is what msfs needs to catch up on. This is one thing that xplane has that msfs doesn't have and will keep people using xplane until msfs can get something as good
