The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has announced he is seeking arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and three leaders of Hamas: Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh and Mohammed Deif. The charges against Netanyahu and Gallant include starvation of civilians, extermination, intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population, among other crimes. The charges against the Hamas leaders include extermination, murder, taking hostages, rape, among other crimes. "It places Israel's leaders of this genocidal onslaught on the Gaza Strip in the dock," says Middle East analyst Mouin Rabbani, who explains why this will be "very significant" for Israel's allies and signatories to the ICC. "They now have to make a choice between Israeli impunity and obligations under the Rome Statute."

a Holocaust can be committed 70 years later - after the German inflicted holocaust - by Israel or any other country. did you miss the good news? The UN revised its Gaza death toll, almost 50% less women and children killed than previously reported. The UN said it had been relying on figures provided by Hamas. Last week the BBC reported that its calculation of civilian Palestinians killed in this war was way overstated. It appears it also had been relying on figures provided by Hamas. War is hell and those that bring war to their constituents are the ones responsible for bringing death and misery to their own people. The Palestinians have chosen war with rockets, arson kites, rape, torture, hostage taking, cars ramming bus stops and incessant whining and propaganda for the past 80 years. So, what, in this war is the "genocide" in using all force possible and deemed necessary to get the hostages? Wouldn't you? Tell the truth.

The top prosecutor of the ICC has a start, but it sounds like he is, at minimum, biased toward the US. This position needs to be neutral, charging whoever is guilty, whether or not they're in the Security Council. Even the appearance of hypocrisy is problematic in an organization which needs all the legitimacy and strength it can get. Givr, Smotrich, the President, and spokespersons, especially those involved in the Al Aqsa fiasco, should be charged. As well as, those involved in the demolition of Issa University, UN schools and facilities, churches and mosques, and infrastructure since 2005. It's ridiculous that the Palestinians and the UN have to keep rebuilding, that the UN has to foot the bill and the blame for the Israeli governments policies. The US government needs to stop supporting Netanyahu/the far right in Israel. No more military anything and no more funds. Nothing until the demonstrate that they can cooperate with their neighbors.

Israel is not a democracy. Not by a long shot. In fact, it is one of the most undemocratic countries in the world. Here’s the reality: there are 5 million people living within the borders that Israel controls who do not have the right to vote over the government that determines virtually everything about their lives, and whose human rights under international law are unenforced and regularly violated. On top of this, there are another 6 million people from that territory who are so completely disenfranchised that they have no rights within it at all, and have been rendered legally “stateless”.

The problem with that is that when the veto gets banned, countries like Russia, China and the US will become increasingly less willing to have diplomatic conversation. The point of the UN was to prevent WWIII, and if the major powers of the world are unwilling to talk, major power war becomes much more likely, especially given the state of relations between Russia China and the US. Plus, 42% of all UN funding comes from UNSC p5 members, and they will most likely cut off all funding should the p5 be abolished, meaning that almost half of funding to the UN would be cut off. And almost every single thing that the US, China and Russia veto are problems that couldn't be solved anyway, Israel openly stated that they would not do a ceasefire even in the Security council told them to. Plus, the UN legitimacy would probably go down, because the UN would lose the backing of the most influential countries in the world. If the world major powers don't support the UN, why would smaller ones? So no, Veto power should not be banned, the point of the UN wasn't to create equality, it was to prevent and world war

Well an arrest warrant isn't the same as completion of a trial. If the judges are fair, they would find that with enough evidence, these claims are not justifiable. that said, I'm not sure how it isn't obvious at this point with all that we now know and all the eyewitness testimony and IDF confessions and released hostage reports. An international trial, if all parties are being fair and just, would actually elicidate the truth for the world to see.
