Fun fact: Three 6 Mafia originally sampled the song “I Choose You” by Willie Hutch to make this beat for a song called “Choose U” by Project Pat about 4 or 5 years prior, apparently Pimp C was in jail (IIRC) & he heard it, loved it & wanted to rap on the beat. This version’s a banger but the Project Pat version’s cold too & hits kinda different. They also sampled Willie Hutch for other songs like “Stay High” (or Stay Fly) & “Poppin’ My Colla” & so on. Another cold Three 6 Mafia track I came across more recently is “Who Gives A F-ck Where U From”. That joint could change somebody whole life up

Like someone said, DJ Paul did this beat for Project Pat. Pimp heard it and wanted it. This is how cool those guys are, Pimp C told Paul, "I want that beat"... Not "how much for the beat etc". But also 3-6 was supposed to be on it with UGK, but they're label (I think was Sony) wouldn't clear them to be on it. So someone had the idea of Outkast being on it. Worked out well bcuz 2 of the best hip-hop duo's of all time, definitely the 2 best to ever find outta the South.

Yess from project pat to this song now.... im so glad i waited until i was at a really low point in my life to finally watch your videos. I went from feeling at a absolute bottom 0 to a full recharged 100%.. Theres something special about sharing the same respectful taste in music with someone else. Even after all these years and "way before our time"
