I understand but then we couldn't follow the trainer's movements. He's trying to instruct us so he needs to go slower so we can follow his movement and techniques. I'm sure when they're alone in class he'll go faster.

What do they test you on when it comes to being an armed security officer the shooting part of the test do you have to aim certain targets or what I’m in the process of being one ??

@@callmesupreme1533 Armed Security (here) has to score a 80% and better on their shooting range qualifiations, along with Unarmed prior to applying or certifiing as armed. Basically, you have to know the basics of unarmed security, techniques, interviewing, fire-control, basic first aid, etc etc the things that need the job to function... then you move onto just firearms training, basic pistol introduction, firearm-safety, duty-belt setup and holster requirements, understanding stances, movement, how to strip/field-strip your firearm, how to work your firearm, etc etc Then the ACTUAL Range training, all of this is usually done by a state certified instructor-- who will obeserve you as a group and one-on-one, shooting from close range (speaking distance), 1-4m then 7m and 15m. 3 Lines basically. 1-4m close range 7m mid range 15m 'long' range You must qualify and reach a minimum of 80% on all 3 satisfactory to the instructor (he has to testify usually, if you're involved in a shooting, aswell as having to live with the fact, he passed you... and he must ensure you're able to shoot worth a shit). Once the instructor is satisfied you are qualified. Paperwork is done and ceritifcations passed out. We here must qualify EVERY year again, with a state certified instructor. We must score a 80% and better every time. It is ENCOURAGED that you take the information you learned and apply it, train with it, and seek further instruction and training while off-duty for yourself and to ensure your skills are improved. Perfect training makes perfection. - Train with the firearm you will carry as Armed Security (if you're hired, or being hired) or train with the firearm you carry (like a Glock 19, 9mm) and qualify with it. You must RE-QUALIFY if you carry a different handgun (eg, .45 or .40 or .357, same goes with rifles and shotguns you must re-qualify when changing calibers) - Train with the Holster/Belt and Ammunition you'll be carrying (eg; Range ammo is fine, but shooting your ACTUAL ammunition you'd carry is better). Holsters can be tricky, Especially lvl2/3 holsters often required by security / LEOs to carry openly a firearm. - Train to drop stuff like a notepad or pen from your hands, or even a flashlight or other item like a cup, when training to use a firearm. This trains you to get ready to fight, DROP EVERYTHING THAT ISN'T REQUIRED. Get your hands on the gun, seated right, and be ready to shoot. You can't shoot safely with a cup in your hand. Importantly: CHECK YOUR INSTRUCTORS. Ensure you have a GOOD isntructor. Ensure they are licensed, Certified and Qualified to do so. Do research, ask around, ask for refrences. You don't want just ANY old instructor, you want a instructor who cares and gives a shit about YOUR well-being, and YOUR future and about THE PUBLIC which trusts you to carry a gun safely... just like police, just like authority figures, just like other guards. The public TRUSTS you are won't mishandle the gun. All in all, do your research. Do your INDEPTH research and don't just assume! Seek guidance, Seek knowledge, Seek further education... One other thing worth mentioning: Get certifications in First-aid and other Red-Cross courses such as AED Training, BLS (Basic life support) training, Mental-Health training (knowing how to deal with people having episodes or mental health issues, safely and properly). These certifications and training can boost your career and open doors in security, aswell expand to all other jobs or position.

Point it straight down and knock the tip hard on the ground once to release one section and then a second time to release the other section.

Yeah I would definitely not try any of this stuff with a baton. Go look up "Defensive Baton Basics" by Officer Jared, thats much more likely to end up protecting your own self. Strike hard and move fast, none of this "do this then do this and then finally do this" which will never work in a real life situation.
