Just got mine 2 weeks ago, so much to learn... Currently going through the global settings as shown here, setting stages and pulse counts, run actions, scales etc. Your videos are so helpful, thank you.

Youre welome, thank you! Yeah the Metropolix is so versatile, it can even do what the new Vermona Melodicer does... I was planning on doing a vid on that next.

@@ZvookUK I have absolutely no ida about the melodicer. I've heard the name, and I know it is loved by many, but I never looked into it. I saw the Metropolix videos when it first came out, and it showed exactly the sequencing style I was looking for. It just took a long time to get to it among the list of other modules. I just ordered the Gx expander a couple of days ago too.

This is rad! I'm thinking about a Black Sequencer but your demo made me contemplate the Metropolix even more closely...

Which sequencer are you interested in? Was it the Erica synth one? Or the winter modular one?

Thanks for making this video. I bought a Metropolix but struggled to make it sound acid-y. (I know, right?) Turns out I just needed to shorten the pulse count and use mod lanes to spice it all up. (I was trying to do it via high pulse counts.) It was good to see you work through idea methodically, instead of some other videos where they just show snippets of good patches without actually showing you how they got there. A+

Thanks! - I need to kick myself into action and make some more Metropolix vids (- I’m planning on posting one soon). It’s my favourite sequencer - so flexible and great for jamming with - loads of hand-on fun basically. Re acid lines - yeah repetition and variations in repetition. The accumulator is a great way to add variation too. I’ll have to post a vid up on that as the settings on the accumulator can be tricky to get your head around at first

Very good demo, thank you! I have mine and can’t even managed second track :)

Thanks! The Metropolix has a very unique work flow, if you’re used to having complete control over sequences it can take a bit of getting used to - a lot of it is a case of setting up the conditions for a “happy accident” to occur. As usual with Intellijel modules there’s a load of depth and a bit of a learning curve to getting the most out of them. I’m planning on making a series of videos on the Metropolix, going into more depth. Hopefully they’ll be helpful.

@@ZvookUK that would be great

I've got another vid in the pipeline that I'm putting out in a couple of days time on Metropolix's preset chaining. Like I say, I'm planning on doing a series going in depth into the many and various functions. The next vid will be a bit more concise and better edited.

Metropolix is dope

It is dope. So glad I finally got round to buying it. Looks deceptively simple, but Is capable of Very complex sequences and the two tracks can be musically closely related or completely different (as there is a separate pitch mod track option) or somewhere in between. And there’s a lot of scope for creating entire compositions. Plus, it’s just plain fun. Which is most important. Superb sequencer

wish the accumulation would rise +1 within the scale you are working in instead of just semi tones.
@ZvookUK Жыл бұрын
It does - just set the scale for the track and set the accumulator limit to +\- 1 and the accumulator setting on the stage you want to effect to either plus 1 or minus 1. It will then increase just one note up or down within the selected scale. You can go up/down by two or more notes too but the settings can be tricky to get your head around

Ah, sorry yeah - I also had a couple of other vco’s / filters hooked up to the plantar (other than the MS1) - I was using the plantar to crossfade between the four sound sources. One of the vco’s was an Intellijel shapeshifter, and another was an Akemie’s Castle FM vco. The signal from the Metropolix was sent to a buffered mult before going to the various VCOs. As I remember right the MS-1 was doing the bass part and the other vco’s linked to the plantar did the other part (tracks 1 & 2 on the Metropolix).
