It really bugged me that in the first movie he fights while holding a box of kittens and the woman is actually thankful for saving them, but in the second movie he fights a monster while holding a baby and the city tries to paint him as a monster for doing it.

I love his portrayal. It's a great balance between gritty and campy.

As a cat person, I cannot explain enough how much I love that a super tough gun-toting Demon also likes giving cats a chin rub.

I remember when this movie came out my family rented it from Blockbuster. I was originally hesitant to watch it because when I saw the poster for the movie theaters, it looked like a horror movie. I wasn’t into horror movies back then, but then when they put it on and I saw that it was a superhero movie, I was automatically drawn in and I became a fan of the character. I haven’t read the comics I should start reading them but I’ve done research on the character seen the two animated movies and went opening night to see the sequel. I was looking forward to Hellboy 3 which sadly never happened. I own the reboot only because Walmart had it on sale 4K ultra HD for $10 but I still don’t like it that much and I’m hoping they go ghostbusters route and just eventually make the sequel, and ignore the reboot to me. Hellboy is a very underrated gem and I hope we can becomes a classic because to me everything about the first two movies hold up the effects the creature designs to make up Perlman looks like Hellboy at the same time you can still see Ron Perlman in the make up he embodies that character I wish I had more Hellboy merch sadly the only thing I have is a Funko pop maybe one day one of these toy companies to make a figure of him and I would like to get my hands on the original poster from the movie theaters

For some reason (Probably shot composition) Del Toro reversed the film in the first few seconds when Hellboy enters the room at the beginning of this clip. Notice that he's holding the gun with his RIGHT hand and the Hand of Doom is on the LEFT. Took me FOREVER to notice this on multiple re-watches ( I love this film ) but I finally caught it! "Heeeey... the Red Hand of Doom is his RIGHT hand, not his LEFT!" And then the following bit at 00:08 they switch it back! LOL!
