Inter-Miami footballer Lionel Messi has posted a video to China's Weibo apologising for his "no show" at a recent friendly in Hong Kong.

Any explanation is too late and useless at this point. The credibility is gone! Even if the claimed injury is true, how do you explain your attitude during the event.? 🤔 seguro antes de viajar sabía lo de la lesión. Al menos decir que no jugaría de antemano para que la gente no comprara los boletos tan caros o hacer una parte de la devolución. Contrariamente en Arabia sucedió con Cr7 que sí había avisado sobre su lesión y su participación era incierta cosa que el fanático se arriesgaba si compraba el boleto pero incluso un día antes del partido confirmó que no jugaría por eso los fanáticos no se quejaron con él. Messi sin embargo, casi no sale a jugar ese día, si no me equivoco jugó menos de 15 minutos o 10 (el fanático pagó por verlo solo ese tiempo) y nadie dió explicaciones del por qué jugó tan poco tiempo. And whether to play or not depends on the player's condition as well as the decision of the coaching staff.
