By illustrating the importance of one’s legacy, Jenny Brown talks about everyday actions and decisions and how they connect to collectively define not only who we are, but also create our legacy. The challenged is to be mindful about the daily decision making process, create a values structure that will help navigate this process and be more intentional about the decisions they make, no matter how insignificant it all may appear on the surface.
Jenny Brown is the Associate Director for Residential Education at Kennesaw State University. As an MBA, working with students everyday, and applying lessons from her own life, Jenny has found great importance in the every day actions which collectively make up our entire lives. Jenny works through student affairs to help inspire students to understand that every thing they do matters.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at ted.com/tedx

The teacher who gave out a C, really must have thought he was being slick, what bizarre legacy to be the hard nose traditionalist but a maverick to experiment on students to see what their reaction will be. Your father was a good man.

This talk's topic makes an incredible ice breaker at functions to spot out whose being with intention rather than getting by. I want formulate an answer that will take an eternity of trial an error to know as experiential knowledge, but just to get to that moment with another person is already deeper and appreciated by someone who savors the little things about authentic interactions. I absolutely hate it though when talk is overused on trivial things, by a more pushy person drowning out the potential and wisdom of a deep conversation that could have been, especially when I'm the 3rd wheel to others.
