She is beautiful, inside and out, and she doesn't need any more cosmetic surgery or treatments. Cosmetic surgery, and even less invasive cosmetic treatments, like face peels, botox, and fillers, eventually begin to add up to too much. It all just reaches a point where your face begins to look too shiny like plastic, your features lose their unique quirkiness, and your skin begins to look too taut and perfect with no wrinkles or character, like a shiny plastic doll, no matter how good the cosmetic surgeon is.

Clever! Many creative ideas. Here is one for you. If you have fake plants, get rid of the Spanish moss in the pot, and replace it with dry potting soil. It will look so real that friends may accidentally water it for you!

BR, I feel like I’m living your parallel life. Divorced against my wishes, using what I have to cobble a new life, then upgrading to create my next, new best life. Covid pushed me to finish my home. I love my new life and this next chapter. (Huge, cuz hopelessness abounded. Now, I have hope, promise & potential I never knew. Thx for you honesty in your story.

We built our cottage. We even made our own floor plan. For a year every time we visited someone my husband would measure a room or two, or the pool table, something anyway. We gave our plans to a blue print person and he made a few suggestions and helped with the exterior. Found a builder and he added a few thing as well. Somethings I would change, because style have change and it has been 30 years., other wise it is nearly perfect. We have a great view of the water, a creek that is at least 1/4 mile wide and 20’ deep. There is a lovely back porch 12x52’ and smaller front porch the backyard is patio and gardens, again the water views. I am tossing these out as things to think about as you plan.

I think i should add why we designed our own floor plan. We had this marvelous view and it was to be a cottage. We could not find any plans that fit our need and we were doing this on a tight budget. We worked around if we had to sell the house since it was a second home. We kept everything on the main floor, a basement that could be finished with space for a pool table, 2 baths, open concept sort of, extra closets. The LR and DR are one one room and each has double sliding glass doors, cathedral ceiling. Not planned, but we can be out in the middle of the creek on a tube and tell if someone is at our front door! My husband wanted to see the water when he wakes up in bed, so the house was designed with that in mind, first floor had to be so many feet above ground level. We also have 2 gas fireplaces, after having a wood burning stove for 30 years. Our thought process.

Beautiful Spring makeover for the family room. Thanks for all the tips like over-buying. Can't tell you how many times, I've seen something at Home Goods and tried to decide in the store if it would or wouldn't work in my home; only to go home, decide it would work and then go back to the store and it's gone. Ugh! Next time I'll use your advice, buy it and decide when I get it home. If it doesn't work, I'll take it back.

I used to only really change up my decor at Christmas, but a year into the pandemic and with being home so much more, I decided that needed to change. I have been largely doing it with accent pieces. Seasonal pillow covers in the living room and bedrooms (with seasonal fabrics such as velvet in the Winter and linen in the Summer), adding more plants for Spring/Summer, switching out things like trays (loved that you added a white leather tray on your coffee table, as I did too), swapping out or adding art pieces that seem more appropriate to the season, lighter colored runners in the kitchen and bathroom. I am loving it and enjoying my home so much more.

Yes, I change my rooms for the seasons. Usually the entry hall, main living area, dining, guest room, guest bath & master suite. Living in Texas, the seasons are so similar I switched to only changing twice a year in the Spring & the Fall - for Christmas, I just add holiday decor in whatever color scheme I decided to use for the fall/winter. It makes it so much simpler than trying to change it out 4 times a year, plus the holidays.

I am a diy queen. There are tons of frame sets on Facebook Marketplace. I have found frame sets at almost every Thrift Store as well. I paint them either black , brass, or distressed whit most the time. Then use canvas or paper mache sheets I make to stencil on my patterns. Sometimes I use a cardboard template I make to make sure I get the exact pattern in the right place on each art peice I make for the frames. Also Wallpaper sample books are a great place to find simple coordinated prints. Simple cut 4 coordinating prints to size to place into your frames.

The only things I am able to change out is the different holiday decor. So I start lke you with a neutral base, all white, off white, then add pops of color through pillows and other accessories. I live in an apartment, so I have no extra storage to put larger items to switch out. Another thing I plan on doing is, instead of buying a punch of pillows for different times of the year, I am going to just have fitted decorative pillow case coverings with hidden zippers, to go over my exisiting throw pillows. I am probably going to end up making them, if I cant find what I want already made for sale. If I make them then they will be unique, and I like to be a little diferrent and not feel like I am walking into the same house as everyone else. 😊. ❤

The only thing I would change about this silhouette? Would be to replace your hanging curtains with fabric with some textural detail. Moving in those potted plants to the center of the window(s), and moving those lamps out to the corners? Totally opened up the look of the room. As usual, perfect. Brava.

I also change dishes...solid black and black silverware for later in season, white for summer with clear-handled silverware and then a cream/beige color pallet for spring with regular silverware. I change out table linens and centerpieces the same. I soooo enjoy the variety bkz I live in an apartment and feel it's important to surround yourself with things that make you happy! I love McKenzie Childs decorations , if you use them well they can bring class and friendly and warmth ! I don’t like my home to look like a Museum or stuffy or feel uncomfortable! Is like wearing your diamonds and fur around the clock! I had all that when I grew up! Now I like to wear Jean skirts and silk blouses and designer shoes ! Hi Rebecca, I love to change up my decor for the seasons also. Except I am on a very limited budget, being a divorced and on one income. So I mostly reuse what I have, and thrift most of all my decor. I follow several u tubers for the current styles and trends and try to make it happen on a very low budget. I do appreciate all of your wisdom and design tips and tricks you give. I am blessed for the talent I have to create the more expensive looks for less. Thank you for your inspiration.

Knowing that even Rebecca sometimes struggles to choose online purchases is really comforting. I also tend to buy more choices and take advantage of the right of withdrawal 🙌 even if my budgets are much lower than hers

Rebecca another ace job. I love how you are repurposing items for different rooms. Excellent on using the extra chair as a desk chair. I adore the new light. Since I’ve been watching you, I tend to change decor ore often. I think for many people like me it could be limited budget. Every video you do provides wonderful information. Keeping some kind of cover on a white sofa is smart. I’m thinking grandkids. I admire your creativity and wit. I bet we would have a great time together.
