Thanks for the great video, which is really easy to follow - even for not-native-speakers like me. Funny thing is - I had the exact same idea about courtesy lights in the back when I tackled the interior of my 70 convertible three years ago!

appreciate it, thank you. I had them in my fastback and always wondered why they were not in the coupe or convertible

Nice job! I like the details of the recessed lighting. Nice and neat.. great advice on taking a break (or doing something else) when you're getting tired of something.

Kudos on the light install. Also shallow headed small pop rivet works well on the felts also. Drive on!!!

never thought about pop rivets , got focused on using the staples. Great idea as I have some 3/32 rivets that are thin

The courtesy lights are a great idea!

Thank you , no idea why there were none in the first place considering there is no dome light like in the coupe or fastback

This is an amazing coincidence. I re-upholstered my '66 Mustang convertible interior and also deleted the rear ashtrays! my brother criticised this,.. so glad to see great minds think alike!

Awesome choice on contrasting color combo and use of the fastback lights Wally. Reckon a dark blue C stripe accent on the sides of this car would be outstanding, everyone does white. Vinyl would be period correct?

Thank you , yes I have the vinyl stripes as I chickened out on trying to paint the stripes on (thank goodness) but they are white. I never thought of different colour, I will take a look at examples as I am months away from applying the stripe kit.

Video was helpful but I need to see that material get attached to the panel. The glue was applied and the next thing I know the finished panels are on the car. Did my phone malfunction?
@68mustangrestoration348 ай бұрын
understood , a lot of the time the camera does not record or I unfortunately lose footage but basically the material is already fitted for the panel so if you watch from 10:30 to 11:30 I am simply gluing the perimeter and using binder clips to hold it while the glue sets. I did NOT apply any glue to the panel surface as it was not needed.

How did you get the fabric material to get under the convertible top rivets? Did you use new rivets?
@68mustangrestoration34 Жыл бұрын
Not sure which rivets you are describing. The clips that hold the tonneu cover screw in. Now, the window trim piece did have a rivet and yes I did use new ones. I think they were 1/16 inch rivets and I used stainless steel as opposed to aluminum. Hope I am describing the correct rivet, if not please let me know

Where did buy the felt trim ??
@68mustangrestoration342 ай бұрын
CJ pony parts it is in a complete package called "beltline weather strip" where you get all the window weather striping including the felt inside peices and the rubber outside pieces . NOt sure if they are sold separately but since I was restoring the car I needed all of them . Make sure you order for coupe or convertible. Fastback does not have rear windows so not kit for that.
