Interlocking compressed earth block machine problems

Check out our latest KZfaq video where we talk about our ICEB (Interlocking Earth Block) machine! It runs on electricity, specifically 110V 30A, and we power it with our homemade solar system. But here's the problem - sometimes the power cuts off, and we're not sure why. We're trying to figure it out so we can build our dream off-grid house with this machine. Hello guys, very inspiring, I’m sure you will solve all the issues, and achieve your goal. Very interested to follow you in your journey. I just received exact same machine😅, it’s working 220V 60HZ 3 Phase, I’m in testing phase. If I may have a question; what is the max pressure you got on the gage Mpa or psi? Please. Best

Are you running it off of an inverter/offgrid? Next time I go out I will take a look at the pressure and post. Currently I that a thread on Reddit that is talking about the power factor that motors put out. Thanks for the comment!

Its a 38 amp 110v motor meaning you need a 40 amp min dedicated breaker. Remember to size wire accordingly

4180 Watts at 38 amp 110v. It is a 6500w inverter putting out 110v to a panel and the breaker feeding that circuit is a 110 - 30a breaker. And the breaker doesn’t trip. The inverter is shutting down and giving a code of over voltage. What do you think?

If you can rewire to 240v it is better less amp draw but from sound of it it would have to be dedicated inverter with nothing else drawing power from inverter, even then may be too small of inverter for that load. Also initial start up may be causing the issue. All motor draw more than stated draw for initial start. That can be solved with capacitors.

Remember it is drawing 38 amps requiring at min 40amp breaker.

Sorry I just saw this comment. I gotta figure out how to show replies better. I have gone through a bunch or research. This motor has two capacitors on it. We are thinking it is something with the power factor. I have a couple things to try. We’ll keep you updated.

If you can share the wiring diagram on the motor nameplate we can help you rewire it for 240v

The voltage issue with your inverter is probably a warning for your battery, not the load. When you draw a lot of current from your battery it pulls the voltage down and trips the over/under voltage protection. This has to do with the C rate of your battery bank, not the capacity of your inverter. Have you used a volt meter to see how much voltage the motor is running at? Remember, switching that motor from 220v to 110v will cause it to draw double the amps that it did at 220v. You could use a generator or as you mentioned, covert it to a gas motor. Also that ground on your cable should be connected to the case of the motor. I hope you get it running. This is just a small hiccup. Don't get discouraged. I'm interested in earth block construction as well.

off grid I'd go gas engine - going off the skid hydraulics is a good idea too.- good luck

We like the idea of electric for the fact that it is more green. We have the solar as well. But we’ll see how it all plays out. Thanks for the comment.

The electric power need use three phase voltage, single phase power first not powerful seccond easy to brun Motor capacitance, and the soil must need soft sticky soil, if not easy to find, can try the soil for ceramics

Hello, I know there is a solution to the electrical problem of your block maker, but I have no idea what it is -- Sorry. In case you have not seen these, I thought you might consider watching some of the following for alternatives, besides rammed earth. 1.
