Whoever calls this child labour believes that children don't enjoy such work. I come from that background. I was given tasks commensurate with my level of performance. Just to train me, not to work beyond my strength. Children on their own sometimes engage in harder things than this in the villages. Soon these boys will be proud to show their skills and some of them could pay their own way in education as far as possible. Without such skills children try to look for answers to life's questions from the streets. There is no government welfare for these boys. And, by the way, this is not done during school hours. Just evenings and weekends.

Some of the children look as young as 8 years old. If you did that to my child, I would be pissed!😠

This is child work. Child labor is work that is harmful to children. Not all work done by children under the age of 18 is child labor. At Wonder Afrika children's home, we train children with the basic principles of welfare practices intended to equip them for self-reliance in the future. This means that children have the duty to work for the solidarity of the family and assist them in case of need. Some work may therefore be done by children as long as it does not interfere with their education and enjoyment of their rights. The idea being that child work within the family unit may be a positive experience that can capacity build them in terms of vocational skills as well as social adaptation.

@@wonderafrikathey load a 50kg pack of cement and it is not child labour? They aren't enough strong to pull the bar. I don't know which country you are based, but raise children to be responsible doesn't need to make them work that way. And you throw that on KZfaq? You should be ashamed.

Why are children working?

There are many reasons why children should learn to work, including: 1. Learning skills Working can help children learn important skills, such as time management, organization, communication, and teamwork. 2. Learning about money Working can help children learn the relationship between money, time, and things. Part-time jobs can also help children learn how to make their own money and manage it effectively. 3. Building character Work can help children learn character qualities like initiative, perseverance, and responsiveness to authority. It can also help children become more confident. 4. Learning to balance work and play. Working can help children learn how to balance work and play at a young age. 5. Learning about duty Working can help children learn that duty is recognizing an obligation that is expected to be upheld. 6. Getting excited about school Working can help children get excited about school because they believe that math is important in the real world.

@wonderafrika those kids would rather be at school, or playing. Are they paid the amount ot an adult ?It is exploitation. Earth bricks are cheaper than ciment bricks and you lower the cost by using children? Hire their parents!!
