I have my paps 574 original to the farm I bought when my grand parents last. Love the tractor. It’s a 74 and only has 1200 hours on it

That’s great that you have that tractor. Not many hours on it

The first tractor I ever drove was our 574 gas tractor. My grandpa bought it new. It was the second biggest tractor he had on the farm. He sold it to my dad when he bought the farm and unfortunately in the mid 90’s my dad had a auction and it was sold. It’s still in the family though, my second cousin bought it and still uses it on his hobby farm.

That’s great that you still know who has it. I haven’t been able to find my grandads oliver 77

PA Farms I wish I knew where the other tractors we had on the farm went. I also have a 530 case that other grandpa bought New when he farmed. He kept it for plowing snow and working garden. It’s not in running condition right now but someday I want to overhaul it and restore it.

Back in the day, International Harvester sold a lot of 574's and the slightly larger (by 10 hp or so) 674's in my area. A lot of them are still in use today. Thanks for the video !!!

I love tractors of this size. I got me a Oliver 550 with a Freeman loader on it. PTO, Three point, drawbar. Handy little fucker. Absolute gem of a find...all original with less than 1000 hours on the clock. 1961. Unless of course someone fuddled with the tach/hourmeter.

Little power wagons. Perfect balance when used with a loader

Brill tractors, I have a hydro version that’s been on the farm for 30 years at least 👍

I have a question you might be able to answer. My 574 has the one remote on the left side and is run to the loader up front. My pap had a 3 bottom plow with a hydraulic tilt to it. My 574 has the 2 leavers by the right foot. If I disconnect the loader from that rear remote and plug in my bottom plow would it use the same leavers to tilt my bottom plow or not. I haven’t drawn out a schematic of the hydraulics yet to see if the hyrdraulic pumps first to the leaver valves or goes straight to the remote first but it seems like a lot of 574s I see with that single remote on the left doesn’t have a loader but still has the leavers up front. I’m just wondering if I can run remote implements with mine or not

those little tractors are great little tractors hitch stabilizers weren't that great or was steering going down the road trying to hold it straight but apart from that they were a beautiful little tractor I've got one that's done some hours slowly fixing it up bit by bit

I would love to have that 574 and loader. If I’m not wrong the bar axles we’re on the tobacco special it should have extenders for the front axles. Putting a clutch in it is pretty easy about 2-3 hour .

Yea the clutches couldn’t be simpler

I have a 574 disel that will start fine. But when i pull the throdle handle down to idle up it does nothing. My linkage is working so whats my problem?

Do you happen to know where you would find the pressure and return line for a front end loader on a 706 international diesel?

Thanks for the video! I have a 454 that has decent (not great) hydraulics. Once the tractor warms up the hydraulics get very slow and weak. Is the pump needing rebuilt? Or is it something I'm missing?I have to bleed the brakes periodically to keep them working.
@Lauterbach243 жыл бұрын
Might pull the hydraulic filter cover off and clean the screen and replace the filter. The filter cover is just under the operator left foot board towards the rear axle.

@@jameseldridge1435 I have the industrial version of the 454, the 2400A, and the brakes on it need to be bled occasionally. Probably needs a rebuild on the brake cylinder. The D179 Neuss German diesel is a great little engine. Rugged, but hard to cold start in colder temperatures due to the lower compression ratio. We use a block heater in the winter and that helps a lot if it is below 40F.

Good day. I liked video on 574. I have one Bought it 80's . Mine had been rebuilt because of anti-freeze. We sold farm 88,kept tractor for snow removal, hard bugger to start in winter.Dealer told me compression ratio 15.5-1, that's why they smoke when cold & harder to start. I did like 2 spd. pto, light work 540 adapter. I seen that 1 had either can. If you know anything about this , please let know. I don't think popularity in Ont. is that great ? Thanks

@@colmanlong1032 I’ve also read that when you overhaul a 574 diesel 239 engine that the sleeves in the cylinder can have antifreeze leak causing block to go bad. I’ve driven one since high school and I’m approaching 60. The tractor locked up about 5 years ago and is sitting behind house. Need to get rid of it.

@@drf1056 is there any special coolant or antifreeze you can use.
@drf1056 Жыл бұрын
@@colmanlong1032 you may want to phone a dealer to see what they recommend, the comment I read a couple of months may not be legit but a reputable dealer should know. Hope this helps!

Is there any difference between the 574 and 674 (besides horsepower) that's noticeable
@PAFarms Жыл бұрын
They were overall very similar, the 674 ran at a little higher RPM, it also had versions with different gearing. I think it was a 10hp difference. I think the row crop version was a little more available in the 674 also

Hey Josh, your subject matter is great and your ability to speak is fine but you need to get a tripod and stop jumping around. Watch some other guys and check out how watchable their videos are. Still shots are great also. Use the Ken Burns Effect. I'm just an old guy trying to enjoy your work. Let us see your face, I'm sure you are good looking like the rest of us, talk to the camera. I worked on mowers and old farm machinery for years and also play with-photography. Just a few words from an old Dude. God Bless
