This is the update for this truck as 12/14/2019. Dealer replaced the Temperature Sensor module. Perhaps inside the module one of the circuits was defectived. NOx sensor and Soot sensor were working fine after the test performed by Navistar dealer. So, at the end, one of the problems was solved because those were the active codes, the others dealer just checked the sensors but everything seems ok. I hope this help to answer questions about what the dealer fixed after all the diagnostics.

@sj4tt at least it's better than maxxforce N13's. And A26 uses same platform with MAN D26 engines which is one of the most efficient truck engine series in Europe. MAN was having reliability and inefficiency issues in early 2000's but they solved that issues after 2009. I believe MAN saved Navistar.

The reason the truck went down is in the numbers, 32,182 miles & 1,723.36 hours. that is a average speed of just 18 miles per hour. I have 2019 Lonestar 108,350 miles & 2,243.30 hours that is a average speed of 48 miles per hour, you absolutely cannot idle these new engines with the emissions on them, it does not matter what truck or engine you are running 18 MPH average speed will cause problems. This is my opinion however it is also my experience. Great video & thanks for posting

This truck can be idling indefinitely (idle shutdown is disable) but that it is the reason for the problem it had. As I said in the video, this is a day cab truck, so as you know, idle times will really high compare to a long haul truck. Thanks for share your opinion and watching the video, I believe in this channel people can learn from each other, like we do everyday in our lives.

@@LetstalkDIESELall truck engines with Regen emissions will have constant breakdown issues if they are idled. The only way to reduce engine problems is to add a diesel or electric APU.

Here's how reliable they are lol Navistar late last week filed notice with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) concerning a defective or noncompliant component on its A26 engine, which could result in complete engine failure in nearly 4,500+ ffected trucks in the United States

Well all you have to do is go to the dealership and you'll find plenty of 2018 and 19 LT internationals with the a26 engine in them traded in with only 200,000 miles on them or less so that just proves that fleets will get rid of them early just to replace them with something more reliable most fleets will take their trucks up to 400,000 to 500,000 Miles when the warranties expire then trade them in....

I don’t know how truck manufacturers are allowed to continue to make trucks that are problematic. Instead of trucks been cutting edge and moving forward we are going backwards whatever happened to buying a truck as an investment. Instead of these throwaway condom trucks That are not worth the plastic the made out of.

I bought a 2007 9900 with a C15 in it. The engine was manufactured in 2006, so it was the last year before they started requiring DPF's. The engine has 1.25 million miles on it, as such it's had some minor things required like a sensor here and a sensor there but it has been absolutely bulletproof otherwise. Everything around it has been a different story, first year expenses were $24,000 on maintenance and repairs etc. Which is about what I paid for the truck to begin with. But that CAT engine makes it worth the investment because I know that sweet girl won't leave me stranded.

It's a cummins aftertreatment system, how is this a international issue?
@LetstalkDIESEL
@LetstalkDIESEL 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I know that this AfterTreatment is made by Cummins, Paccar and International use the same system as well. The reason why I think (in my personal opinion) International has problems with this, it is because they could make their own box, but for some reason (perhaps high cost to build one from zero) they use Cummins. Actually, these A26 engines takes longer to regenerate the DPF than Cummins engines, perhaps because the filter is better optimized for Cummins than International. This is what I think, thanks for watching and share your opinion.

This is a Cummins ATD issue, not Navistars. We've got butt tons of A26 in our Idealease fleet over the last several years, running round the clock with barely a hiccup here and there. And its not a MaxxForce. Its a MAN-based engine. And 32K before issues is great nowadays, sad to say. We just bought the International CV trucks (rebadged Chevys) with the Duramax and one is already de-rating with 1,800 miles! For a diesel channel you sure dont seem to do much research. Modern Intl are excellent trucks. We've got Western Stars, Petes, Kennys, etc, ALL with far more issues than our Intls. Facts.

Where u get diesel and def usually? Navistar promises maximum 2 days for repair A26 in any NS dealership in north America
@LetstalkDIESEL
@LetstalkDIESEL 4 жыл бұрын
If you mean by the place... We get our Diesel from Southern California Lubricants. Our DEF is provide by Flying J company. I know that International offer that and up to 750,000 miles limited warranty. But as you said, it must be a Navistar Dealer, otherwise even if the dealer is certified by them, I am afraid that you will be seating for more than 2 days. Worst part of that engine is the knowledge about it by Technicians is so little, so Navistar still a long way to go compare to Detroit Diesel or Cummins.

if your tractor is less than 750,000 miles (Navistar Warranty may varies), perhaps you could take to dealership, right now, Navistar is taking care of engine and transmission under warranties. I hope this helps, thanks for the support to the channel.

@carlostrejo5295
@carlostrejo5295 3 жыл бұрын
The N13 is pretty much a Maxx 13 except for the EGR and SCR/aftertreatment system. The A26 has a lot of bolt on parts that are from the Maxx13 and are known to fail, on top of the A26 engines blowing up when the wrist pin bushings in the engine give out due to improper tolerances from factory.

The same thing happened to our international LT625 with A26 engines, but after few times transmission died in couple our units, if you see transmission light turning on just for a bit that could be the reason. Hard to tell if the ECU does not save the inactive codes, hopefully you will find the reason soon, please keep us in the know around here, thanks for watching the video.

NearOTR околоДальнобоя yes. I have 4 quarters of IFTA at 9mpg or slightly higher. I really like it. I’m on The Truckers Report under the name Misesian. I talk a lot about it there. Reefer, 72k average gross, 12% DH, Midwest to North East and New England, regional run, then back to Midwest. Some of the early A26s have a recall out. The company that was building the rods shipped a batch of inferior ones resulting in failure. That issue has been resolved.
