International Students are desperately waiting for some good news about border update. Recently Victorian government proposed a plan where they plan to bring back 120 international students every week to Australia.
00:00 Introduction
01:03 Border Update (4 updates)
03:57 Why are Borders closed (2 reasons)
07:18 Should you consider Australia as your study destination?
In this video, we have given a brief border update of the last 2 weeks and given our own explanation as to why the borders are closed. Moreover, we have also discussed if international students should consider Australia as their study destination.
This video is for all those who want more understanding on Australian borders for international students.

Hotel Quarantine will be expensive as well. Universities are forcing intl students to take online course but we just want to come to Australia and get the experience.

i started studying with Australia last year July and I was a fool for being optimistic that they will open up each time they said international students may come I would get excited however, that has just made me demotivated as governments do not seem to care about us students or even have a sense of remorse to apologize but to them, we are just a market and not human beings. some of us have to wake up early in the morning like 1am because of the time zone difference honestly if I had known that this is how it would be I would not have applied to Australia. They should have some compassion and just address us i would rather be told you are not coming to Australia this year it will be 2023 or something then be given false hope or no information at all.

going through the same phase, studying online since last year July and still no hope for borders to open. They keep on giving false hopes of the opening borders but eventually, it turns out to be a major blunder.

If majority people defer for 2022, what will happen to those who are actually graduating in 2022 and willing to study, this will create a massive influx of students and would jobs be sufficient for them? I understand the emotions of those deferring, just bringing in a different perspective.

For me Aus is still a good study destination, for the sheer reason of being covid safe. I have seen first hand what it is to live under the fear of covid-19 as my mother is a healthcare worker. So i dont mind waiting for a few months more to live at a place where i dont have to stress about contracting this deadly thing. Also, when comparing to other countries, I can say about UK that its not worth it studying a Masters degree there rn. The degrees are only 1 year long and physical teaching still out of ques. Plus good amount of covid caseload. Rather be at home and focus on being safe rn

Hello Internash, I started my master in mechanical engineering course online in USYD but trust me that online study is really tough and to belong with a middle class indian family i am not able to pay such high course fees if i failed in any of the subject due to online learning. Thats why I discontinue my course before the census date. And I am really advised people that online learning is not worthy and not understandable too for a tough courses like engineering. if you can, please plan for another country.

I think that they should first allow small batches of international students to return to the country from countries that are less affected by the virus, and provide a timeline as to when that's gonna happen. Then, when they're in the country, they should be quarantined and given the vaccine before they can return back to campus.

That depends on what is the acceptable no of daily covid cases for each country. USA still records approx 50k cases per day whereas in Australia its somewhere around 10. So they cant really afford to mess this up by allowing people from countries who have a much higher caseload.

Given how far aus have come with dealing with covid, they're not just gonna throw open the borders....That said, there was no reason why foreign visa holders can't make up even 20% of the weekly cap of flights....As it is, most of the flights coming into victoria are empty with just 10-15 passengers....Even enough citizens aren't in these flights....given that, they could keep a small percentage of that cap for students or do a monthly thing for students like how they did for the tennis players before the Aus open

They've elections in Mid 2022, their focus is elections. They don't care for international students . They are just not understanding the pain of students. I really wish there was a way that I personally could go, as I’m vaccinated and would be happy to quarantine as much as I needed. Vaccinated people have such low chances to be able to spread it, and 0 chances after quarantining, I wish they would try and do a small something because absolutely 0 people coming in just seems so extreme.

I don’t promote or encourage anyone to select Australia as a study destination as till now no one is able to get into Australia and whenever they would be allowed, it’ll be in a very small number that your chances are nearly to 0. Out of 120 people there must be 60-80 students from all over the world and in that number there are very low chances toh get a chance

Why australian government can't take 500 international students in a month in every state . They can provide quarantine facilities in regional areas(category 3) not in cities. If they provide quarantine facilities in regional areas it will be less chance to community transmission. Actually they known everything about that, they are playing bad politics.

Why doesn't Australia do what South Korea does everyone's who enters s . Korea goes for 24 day quarantine they pay between $1300-2300 for 2 weeks In hotels or airbnb they include meals, snack in the charge. They always check temperature evryfay using an app and it's very effective

In my opinion, other world countries see Australia as a scared and selfish nation. Australia is already left out from the rest of the world because of its policies. In return, Australia is neglected of their vaccine deals. But people in Australia are not really scared about covid 19 only the politicians are scared of losing their party election. If people are scared, why are they not queueing up for vaccines? and hesitation of vaccines is at the peak. Being an international student who loved to study and experience all of Australia this is so disappointing. Every day students wake up and see Australian news hoping to see some positives on the border but nothing happens. I saw a press meeting with Alan Tudge with sky news a few days back, he questioned to the core for his absurd decisions about international students, All he had to say was " Covid is ravaging around the world right now and we have to be cautious". Being an education minister and not supporting education is on another level of stupidity. I am tired of his filthy mind. They had 15 months to build quarantine facilities but still didn't even bother to plan for that. I am mentally tired and frustrated.

Really DISAPPOINTED 😒 I'm a 2nd year student and I just have one year at university left. But for all this time I have not even seen the university that I'm studying at. We pay a huge amount of money to study there but I believe we int.stduents don't even get 10% of the services for the amount of money we pay. In my university tutorial sessions are held in person. So we, international students don't even get to participate in these tutorials and lab sessions which is an essential part of any degree program. And also we are not even able to any of the university facilities we could have used if we were there in Australia. Finally the experience of studying online from a different country. I have been a student who was able to score well in units. But because of this situation continuing studies like this is very stressful and I don't believe it is very good for any students mental health. Wish they would open up the boarders soon.

I think as a responsible youtuber you should tell your viewers that don’t wait for government’s decision regarding border. They are not going to open until 2022 for sure. Don’t give them fake hope. I noticed that you have already made 5/6 videos since last year regarding border update. Please don’t wait everyone back in india. Australia is selfish country. They are not even ready to take their students back who were already here in australia and went to their home country to meet their family.
