I really like that there is no EGR and no turbo actuator, those two problems are way too common on a daily basis. I would like to see how these perform through a few winters in Chicago and on the terrible Chicago roads

Well scania has one of best engines and transmissions and this should be in very high level if everything put together in quality way

It has EGR its a non cooled EGR

Your right, however not having coolant to leak into the intake will be a real improvement 👍

I'm curious why other manufacturers (maybe some do) don't use a system like CAT's CGI (clean gas induction) where exhaust gases go through the DEF then returned without soot into the intake for NOX reduction. Like an ERG without all the soot. CAT's emissions equipment was not very good but CGI system seemed to be a nice alternative to clogged intakes from ERG.

Soot comes from the combustion and oil making it up past the rings and being burned...I don't see why getting rid of the EGR cooler helps to keep the after treatment clean.

@@MrPizzaman09 soot comes from unburnt fuel passing into the exhaust. There is really no sense in pushing unburnt fuel back into the combustion chamber if the combustion process is already poor and can't burn all the fuel that is delivered through the injectors. It's basically doubling how much fuel the injectors deliver without added performance. Thats why during start up is when the most soot is produced, when EGR valve is wide open. With how great direct injections systems have come, especially with grid heaters, I have not seen the absolute need for an EGR system in the last 10 years.

@@MrPizzaman09 Wrong, only small amount of diesel and gases get by the rings of a piston and into the oil. The soot can only come from exhaust. The egr system reintroduces the soot from the exhaust, back into the intake and into the fresh air side. Thats when soot can get into the oil as the power stroke produces high internal pressure. There is still egr in this engine, just no cooler. They can get away with this because of the higher compression ratio and engine design produces little soot and so the egr stays closed most of the time under normal conditions

No EGR cooler, or EGR system period? Some comments he made do not make sense to me. How would eliminating EGR cooling reduce soot levels going to the ATD?

Very easy high temperature means cleaner burning air fuel mixture.

There's no way the stop selling Cummins. Freightliner and Volvo both have integrated powertrains and still sell Cummins.

They wont have to, Cummins is trash on having parts in stock. Cummins will put themselves out of the market before any of the OEs stop using them completely.

More like solutions that keep you out of the dealership every month and from being stuck on the side of the road constantly with a couple thousand dollar tow bill let alone the tens of thousands of dollars in repair bills and lost customers and drivers from unreliable engines or should I say mostly emissions related systems......

This is the same emissions system as in Scania and now MAN, even tho it requires def that thing will be problem free. Compared to the traumatic experiences ive heard this system will be night and day.

International still trying I see... Maxxforce fail N13 fail A26 fail... Now introducing the s13.. how about you fix and improve on the engines that had in the past.. like cummins did with the x15 or paccar with the mx13.. nope we will continue making new engines and failing.. that's the international way 😮‍💨😮‍💨

You nailed this on the head. Cummins has been in working on the ISX15/X15 for over 20 years. Yeah it's gotten new technologies over the years, but they keep fixing the problems, so today it's the most reliable engine.

@@MrPizzaman09, this is a Scania engine. The old Scania d13 was almost 30 years old an had reach the end of the road, the S13 was created to cope with future European emission demands.

the a26 isnt a bad engine though.. and i loathe working on IHC trucks, mainly because their software is SO bad
