Somehow this song makes you say "oh wow that is such homage to The Smiths" but then if you try to pinpoint why or what Smiths song its borrowing from you can't really come up with one. Its still its own thing, but you could totally hear Morrissey singing this.

I want your silent parts The parts the birds love I know there's such a place I had my back turned You didn't realize I'm lonely You lack the things To which I relate But I see no harm Come wait, come wait, come wait It's over One, two, three, do me When I'm feeling lazy, it's probably because I'm saving all my energy To pick up when you move into my airspace You move into my airspace And something's coming over me, I see you in the doorway I can't control the part of me That swells up when you move into my airspace You move into my airspace But each night, I bury my love around you But each night, I bury my love around you You're linked to my innocence This is a concept This is a bracelet This isn't no intervention This is a concept This is a bracelet This isn't no intervention This isn't you yet What you thought was such a conquest Your hair is so pretty and red Baby, baby, you're really the best Can I get there this way? I think so Can I get there this way? I think so Can I get there this way? Can I get there this way? Can I get there this way? Can I get there this way? We should take a trip now to see new places I'm sick of this town I see my face has changed We should take a trip now to see new places I'm sick of this town I see my face has changed Say hello, say hello to the angels Say hello, say hello

Hey you folks born after 1990, I'm going to be your party pooper: Interpol might be great at a live concert, but you aren't aware how poor, how abominable the sound mastering of the whole CD and the audio of this video is: A deterrent example of Loudness War, of mastering good songs to death. I once had found the whole Interpol CD in a public gift box and went so disappointed. Please listen to the following track: Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Mighty Quinn, released in 1978: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rLugaNh4pse3e6c.html and you will realize how vivid, how dynamic guitar-based rock music can sound even on a Vinyl / CD / streaming preserve if the studio does mastering according to quality and not to marketing criteria. I hope your face will get first pale grey and then turkey red, that you will cry about what you have been missing so far, and then get in rage about today's mastering policy of the major music labels. The sh.t started in 1995.
