Hello sir, for the first question would a question like that be given in the exam and if so how could we answer it without using graphing technology. I don't think wed be allowed to use desmos in the exam 😊.

When you sketch the two graphs at 20:10 how would you know how many times to make them intersect - surely u would need to do part b to find how many solutions and therefore alter your sketch or is there another way? (I basically drew the straight line intersecting at (0,0) and another point in the 4th quadrant but drew the line going below the curve in the 2nd quadrant) should i use my graphical calc?

When you solve a part b, I think the answer will depend on what the equastion you got will be if it's quadratic equations it means that we can find 2 solutions of intersection, and if it's a cubic equations it means that we can find 3 solutions of intersection, maybe that's what i got from this video, I hope it can answer your question and please correct me if i'm wrong

@@silenct13 but you could have two quadratics that don't intersect at all, like y=x^2 and y = -x^2 - 1

@@tigress0076 yeah but what I mean is in this context question that you ask before, I mean you ask question of 20.10 in this video that's why i'm focus in this type of question, you know that to solve part b you must use this f(x) = g(x), then you must do factorization to get the x values. Let's see for example in this 20.10 question, to find the solutions you must make x^2 (3-x) = -4x and then the answer is x^3 - 3x^2 - 4x = 0 as you know that it's a cubic equations and then to find the results we can factorization it so that the final equations answer will be x (x+1) (x-4) and there you go, you find the 3 solutions x here, x=0 ; x=-1 ; and x=4 that's what i mean in this context of question I hope you can understand what I mean. And then to find y you just need to subtitute each x to one of the equations before as like you see in that video
