This video follows Interstate 80 thru the Sacramento Metropolitan Area from West Sacramento in Yolo County to Rocklin in Placer County at the base of the Sierra Nevada Foothills.

Crazily enough, you technically passed through my hometown, I live almost 5 miles from I-80. Normally I get on I-80 from Antelope road ( exit 100 ) and continue to CA-65. You should come back here and film it again in the future.

I'm heading to Felton, California for a day out with thomas event I went ever since I was little. I'm leaving this Friday. The route plan is interstate 80 to interstate 680 and interstate 880 I think

Fun fact! Route I-80 from 0:30 to 2:45 used to be I-880 and I-80 went through the city. This changed when the locals in northeastern Sacramento killed an I-80 bypass that would have devastated some beautiful parkland and the state decided to add the Rte. 17 Nimitz Freeway to the Interstate Highway System and the feds approved it.

That segment is an Absolutely horrible testament to car-centric California. The section between "Madison and the split" is something like 16 lines wide in both directions and STILL IS NOT ENOUGH to handle peak traffic. On a side note, it seems this is one of the few videos when you're not the fastest idiot on the road as the California speeders did you one better.
