Interstate 805 South - Oceanside to San Ysidro, California - San Diego Freeways

Жыл бұрынDrivelapse video of several freeways in San Diego County, starting from Oceanside along Interstate 5 and then heading easterly along SR-78 to Interstate 15. The video follows Interstate 15 southerly to SR-163 and then follows that southerly before joining Interstate 805 and heading southerly through the San Diego Metro Area.

805 is not in Oceanside fyi, it’s northern en is Del Mar where it merges with the 5 which does go to oceanside

I know these roads so well! I used to travel the 8 and 805 every day!

Interstate 5 travels between Los Angeles and San Diego but interstate 405 is called the San Diego freeway and ends in Irvine north of the interstate 5/ Bake parkway interchange. Interstate 405 would travel directly through Cox sports park where it would likely intersect crown valley parkway In Ladera ranch and next interstate 405 would tear through rancho San Clemente and last but not least where would interstate 405 cross between Camp Pendleton and Oceanside. The terrain is too rugged east of where interstate 5 currently passes besides the Pacific Ocean.

I actually don’t know why the gps didn’t just say to take the 5 directly to the 805, ik it’s much faster going that way

Glad that you had the chance to get on CA-905 and see the new ramps that were recently built at the 125/11 interchange. Great video, and happy holidays!

905 to otay mesa. i used to do that before i figured 125 was just more convenient

Beautiful drive. Not sure how much I like the slanted freeway lighting though. Caltrans must allow for some pretty high superelevation rates. That ramp to SR-905 is probably the steepest I've seen, on bridge nonetheless. I wonder if that's the border wall going over the mountain near the end of the video.
