This portrayal of Humanity reminds me of the Astereomorphs from All Tomorrows. A sect of Humankind that escaped death and disfigurement at the hands of the Qu by delving into the stars and making a home for themselves in the void. And through their isolation and unhindered progress, slowly became a godlike species capable of altering worlds at a whim. I wonder if a similar future is in store for these humans here.

I really want to try and make my own story about human ship design scarring the galactic species. Like we build ships this say and they function fine but humans literally have ship designations that strike fear into us al, because of what they did.

One minor nitpick since I hear it in many stories. It appears yellow on Earth because the light of the sun is scattered by our atmosphere into tight yellow in the direction of the star and blue sky in the sky. This is why plants are often green as chlorophyll absorbs yellow and blue light but reflects green since it is not a high source of energy. However, since we can see all wavelengths of light, then obviously the sun is emitting all wavelengths. From space, the sun is a white star and any extraterrestrials would see it as white if they entered the solar system. It's a common mistake in science fiction, though, so no demerits!

@@shadowwatcher5042 Yeah, any astronauts or cosmonauts would see a brilliant white sun like an arclight in the sky though I doubt they would want to look directly at it. Must have been strange for the Apollo moon landing to be on a white moon with a white sun beaming down.

Green is not low energy, it is actually the highest energy band on Earth, but purple plants dominated when chlorofyll evolved, so that makes use of what was at the time unused light. What colour an alien assigns to a star would depend on their system of referance. Our system is based on Earth like athmosphere, and there is no particular reason to assume that their stellar clasification might not be based on a similar pre-spacefaring system.

You do realize our sun is classified as a “yellow” dwarf star and we can assume its translated for people to understand so no its not a mistake

@@geoshark12 I must've touched a nerve. But the story didn't say "yellow dwarf star," it said "yellow star." It used the M5 classification for a planet, but not the star - which is G or G-V, right? Had the stories I read said yellow dwarf when referring to Sol, I would not have pointed it out. I've read that the peak wavelength of the sun is actually green, so it makes as much sense that the aliens would classify the Sun as a green dwarf rather than yellow. When I read yellow star though, I think the most likely assumption is that it is based on how the Sun appears to us on the Earth than to aliens in outer space.
