@@J22- i only said that because I grew up listening to Van Halen and kiss and nickel back and others I’m not discrediting jimmy or his guitar playing one of our family friends is in a jimmy Hendrix tribute band called stone free the ultimate Jimi Hendrix tribute band

What really brings me to tears, is ...what you find (here on KZfaq) at "Eddy Van Halen"- KEEP PLAYING"..He refused to do hospice, Knowing he was nearing the end. Chose to spend his last days, where else? In the studio. So he tells all of us E.V-H fAns...."Keep playing, or I'll be coming after you "...Rest in peace, Edward. Since you left us, No guitar will ever sound quite in tune, ever again." My eyes are so full of tears I gotta go.Can barely see my keyboard. Bye

Eddie loved the spotlight as he should be, the first time I worked at one of their concerts he was testing out something I was like that was dirty in good and( Eddie said to yes and I am trying repeating something and it was changing) I said that is magical shit (Eddie said to me I like you) to me)..then V.H was called to the stage and Eddie asked me to walk him out ot the stage..the good times. no didn't get an autograph from Eddie and the group as it was a small part of my job as private security.. RIP EDDIE..cheers

Kurt Loder always did great interviews. Musicians felt comfortable being interviewed by him which helped the conversation roll natural. Like two friends just talking.

He was so young here, I think had Sammy not come along ( V H ) wouldn't of "Catapulted", to the success they had gotten. Reason being we had all been the same age growing up together and when Dave left it had been a blessing. Being that by the time Sammy came along we fans were getting married right along side of Alex and Eddie getting married and honestly we all had moved on from partying and running with the devil. So, once Sammy came along ( VH ) and Sammy grew slowly but, the music became more mature for them and the fans. They became richer , smarter. , and parents as well as being a husband which wasn't easy when each time you leave home your walking into a candy store, free sweets , platters full and trust these little sugar babies wanted the tootsie roll and didn't care that there were children and wives home. But , although Eddie and Valerie divorced, they kept it together. They had Wolfie and that love for there baby kept them all grounded . What sucks is loosing everyone. But trust we will all see one another again. Miss ya Eddie...🖤🎸🤟

Sammy was there since the interview was 1988 and Sammy joined in 1986, but yeah he was young there.

As Eddie said himself, “I’m just a t-shirt and jeans kinda guy.” He was that and then some - he was a flawed human like the rest of us but with a gift and a drive that put him at a creative level that exceeded virtuoso to a level of creating music that demanded new musical interpretation and writing (literally) - Lord Bless his imperfect soul but I thank you God for giving us the gift of Eddie’s music - may it live in eternity

It’s funny often people want to say o there’s d better guitarist than Eddie … and they might be right .. but what makes EVH DIFFERENT is no one else was or is selling out stadiums around the world night after night after night and the crowd chanting Eddie Eddie Eddie….. sure are there bands selling out stadiums sure …guns and roses/ motley crew / Metallica they are there to see the band … IF YOU WENT TO VAN HALEN …IT WAS TO SEE ..EDDIE ….
