Once you’re at this point I feel like a large portion is fate/luck. The circumstances just have to be in your favor. There’s just so many factors at play that it’s not even worth thinking about. Just manifest new opportunities at this point.

I mostly agree with you. Once you've interviewed, it's really out of your hands and is now "fate/luck" like you mentioned. There are SO many factors at play. However, this doesn't mean that you just write off thinking about it - it is valuable to do some reflection to evaluate what you did well and what you think you could have done better. Thanks for watching and for commenting!

@@LifeWorkBalance yeah you’re right it probably is valuable to think about it. It just makes me kinda sad to think about it lol like focusing on a past rejection. I’ll try and do some reflecting as I go on. Thank you, this was a great video.

I literally got to the final round then got rejected. I had to come back to this video. I wasted my time I did a whole work sample for them. I'm gonna follow up as you said and they post their employees on their website so I'm going to definitely see who they picked.

I am so sorry to hear that! I know it feels like a waste of time to have interviewed and to have created a work sample. I hope they get back to you with some helpful feedback. It may also be the case that they just had to make a decision one way or the other and there wasn't much you could do. Again, I am sorry to hear you made it so far and then got rejected. Fingers crossed to your follow-up and I hope you have more success with your next rounds of interviews!

Yes I applied a month ago, had 3 interviews one I went through the 2nd stage, then didn’t get it due to not aligning with what they were looking for, but they they had re posted the job again so looks like they hadn’t found any right candidates for the role then other ghosted. Then the 3rd one just said they ended up going with the other candidate but there feedback was good but yes there was some things outside of my control. But got another 2 more interviews in a few days so prepping for those just gotta go back to the drawing board and keep going. Just have to stay focused I have asked for feedback. Your videos have been very helpful.

Had feedback today for my interview, they said they think I'm the perfect candidate but because I spoke to fast and got flustered during the interview, I didn't get the job. They asked me to apply again in the future. I need to learn to slow down when giving my behavioural answers...

I've done about 30 interviews this year with about a dozen companies. I have to disagree somewhat with the notion that there is something wrong with me and that interviewers don't like me. I think the process is simply broken. Frankly I don't like most of the people who interviewed me. LOL. It goes both ways. I've had companies 500 miles away tell me to stop in if I'm in the area - clearly a red flag if they won't compensate for travel, companies 2,000 miles away ask me if I'm okay with no relo package, companies in Silicon Valley tell me the pay is $200k when I'm going to have to spend $100k of that on housing LOL. Come on. Some companies just stink at the interview process

Hi Brenda - I am so sorry to hear you've had so many interviews and no offers. I agree - the notion that there is something wrong with you and the interviewers don't like you is typically not the primary thing at play. It sounds like maybe it has been a good thing that you haven't had offers if you haven't liked most of the people you've interviewed with. This sounds like a red flag to me. You're right - some companies do stink at the interview process. What do you think could be done differently to improve the process for those companies? Thanks for watching!

Oh my god don’t ask to followup I have been sent an email saying they are not interested just because I asked for feedback and following up.
@LifeWorkBalance
@LifeWorkBalance 2 жыл бұрын
Yikes! That actually would be a red flag to me. If an organization doesn’t want to hire you because you’d like to follow up, I wouldn’t think working for them would be a good experience either! As a recruiter, I still recommend asking the follow up question!

Something to add is if youre a military veteran, LEAVE IT OFF your resume and application. Then, to explain the job gap, say that youve signed an NDA
@LifeWorkBalance
@LifeWorkBalance 2 жыл бұрын
That’s an interesting technique and suggestion. I’m not sure I would recommend leaving it off your resume as many employers (at least in the United States) are proud to hire military veterans who were honorably discharged. Unless it’s true that you’ve signed an NDA, not including your service and then saying that you HAVE signed an NDA isn’t honest. If you work for an organization and you felt like you had to lie on your resume or during your interview, it may not be the best fit for you anyway. My recommendation is to only include information that is relevant to the job on your resume, and then you can talk about other experience on your cover letter or during your interview if needed. If asked why it wasn’t included on your resume you can simply reply, “I wanted to include the most relevant information on my resume to highlight my skills and experience.” Thanks for watching!

@@LifeWorkBalance In the US, even though most companies say they are proud to hire military veterans, it is hardly ever the case. Example, recently applied to 245 jobs since August, none of them called me back. But, when I left OFF that I was in the Army, using a different name but same resume, I had 113 calls back and 90 interviews. The main culprits are anything in the Tech industry, starbucks, lowes, and small businesses. If I had to choose between leaving something off my resume and getting money to get food in my mouth or starving and being homelesss (I'm 34), id rather get food and shelter.
@LifeWorkBalance
@LifeWorkBalance 2 жыл бұрын
@@crl122486 Oh gosh, that is so frustrating and disappointing! I am sorry to hear that has been your experience. I can see why you would choose to leave off your military experience. Were you able to get hired into a position after one of those 90 interviews? If not, have you created a tailored resume that you've used to apply for each of those jobs?

I’ve been trying to switch careers for over a year. I have a bachelor’s degree in humanities. I’ve been getting into interviews but no offers! It’s frustrating; however, I think it is because I’m trying to go to a different industry. I’m taking a few weeks off from searching to continue to get certifications which will boost my resume. I’ve been in final interview stages and many times don’t get feedback. In My last interview , I nailed it still lost it to someone else. 😢

I feel for you 💙 this is a really tough job market and while you might be a highly qualified candidate, there might just be someone they consider more qualified or a better fit. This is particularly hard when you’re switching industries and may have trouble defining and showing off your transferable skills. If you’d like to talk through the types of jobs you’re applying to compared to your education and experience, as well as interview tips, I’d be happy to set up an interview strategy session. Feel free to email me at abby@lwbalance.com. I wouldn’t recommend stopping the job search completely, but focus more on quality applications rather than quantity. You can do both (job search and work on certifications) simultaneously!

I have asked many recruiters and hiring managers via LinkedIn and emails they don’t respond. I get interviews and I personally delivered resumes I take pro active ness to followup and then I have told we are stopping the vetting process the recruiter even asked me if you can do in person interview and after 1 week of followup she says we will not be moving forward with vetting process and I was fully prepared with samples of my work and experience.
@LifeWorkBalance
@LifeWorkBalance 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching, and I'm so sorry to hear you don't get any responses from hiring managers or recruiters via LinkedIn or email. It's possible they are overwhelmed with the number of messages or emails they receive. For the time when you were told by the recruiter that you were not being moved forward in the vetting process, did you request feedback on why you weren't moving forward? It can be so frustrating when you're spending all of this time and effort to prepare and you keep receiving rejection after rejection!

@@LifeWorkBalance yes I clearly stated the question could you please tell me what happened the answer was.. we are moving g with other candidate the first interview went well when she even asked me if I I was available for 2nd in person, I wounder if she rejected me since I followed up with a reminder email and received a response the same evening the company interview was with Berkshire Hathaway. One can imagine a massive conglomerate can possible act in this manner.
@LifeWorkBalance
@LifeWorkBalance 2 жыл бұрын
@@nishantpandya1279 Unfortunately this is sometimes what happens with positions! For large organizations (like Berkshire Hathaway) they likely have hundreds of applicants for single job postings. Give yourself some kudos for getting an interview, and if you request feedback but don't receive an answer that is very insightful, it's okay to do some self-evaluation and then move on to the next position. It is so disappointing to get rejected, especially if you feel your interview went really well. Best of luck in your job search, I am sending positive vibes your way!

Why do content creators ask you to “like” their videos and “make sure you subscribe” to their videos BEFORE they have started the content? How do I know that I like the video or even want to subscribe. Biggest pet peeve. Ask for their like or subscription AFTER the video.

I think the most critical phase for some in that process is to secure a job interview. A job interview means bingo ✨ for them. 😂
