It feels incredibly awesome to be a Christian Deist. Hooray!

Thanks for this interview. It was quite interesting and made me look up a little bit about this belief system.

Great interview! I was leaning towards Christian deism for a while but I just could not allow myself to demote Jesus is any way.

I'm a Creatorist, someone who believes in a personal Creator God. I value myself, value others, value the earth and the One who brought it all into existence by the power of His own being. I believe there is truth in the bible but its not all true. I don't accept the bible concept of God but rather draw my understanding of Him from nature. Nature is my teacher and my conscience is my moral guide. we all know right from wrong for the knowledge of what is morally right is in all of our consciousness. Do what is right according to what you know is morally right and trust the Creator and He will work in your life.

Whenever someone poses questions to me regarding Jesus or God like the way this guy does I feel like I'm being asked to follow man and answer to man or his host. I don't feel like I should answer to Jesus by answering to man.

But Jesus told man to tell other men (and women) to follow him (Mark 16:15). So that is how it's done...Jesus telling people to tell people.

Christian deism is a paradox. Deism is simply believing God set the universe into order, does not interfere, all living things have free will and everything follows natural law. Believing in Christianity in the trinitarian or Unitarian sense contradicts natural law. The act of God sending us his son would violate natural law. Having said that, a deist can certainly admire the story of Jesus and choose to live their life like the Jesus of the New Testament.

Sounds like this guy is trying to ask him questions to convert him to his view of god and beliefs

Basically he believes in a Christian like God but one that doesn't interact with the world.

This is an evangelist set of questions. How about one back. What happens to all those who died an never seen a bible? I beleive we will all meet Jesus when we die. We will all be our own judges when we come fave to face with the truth. When the light shines in, it will expose the truth in us. The bible is a book of stories based on some truth. (Did jona have a timex to know he was in the whale for 3 days?) Now go back and read the verses in your bible that arnt underlined and see where that leaves you.

The problem is, I haven't found much good advice that Jesus taught.

You are saying you're a theist deist; that would be a paradox. You identify that there is in fact a god with certainty. Clearly not a deistic belief.

Edward Trail I don't understand how believing in God with certainty isn't a deistic belief. That's part of what it means to be a deist....
