1980 i started the same manor as charlie. Bloke came to plumb washing machine at mums in islington and gave me a number. called went for interview offered proper 5 year apprentiship,had 5 more interviews with massive plumbing companies offered the start,i went back to first interviewer in holloway took job and best thing i ever did.Now got loads of lads working for me and young lads

Well, i said just yesterday that the best video ever was you and your mate down in that muddy trench sorting out that 100-year-old barrel, But for me today this was the very best ever, If you want to be very successful,its all about stress management and bottle, You either have both or you do not, in other words, if you happy earning 9/10000 grand every month that's fine, But if you want the big bucks you need to listen to charlie and get going today, Charlie is just brilliant, thanks for this one and i wish i had been able to get to even a small part of what he has achieved.

Whether you love him or hate him he's been there and done it. I've got massive respect for him and what he's done.

Listened to and respected everything Charlie had to say except that he could “absolutely” do what he did today as a 15 year old and “bigger and better”. To me that says he’s very detached from how different society and the plumbing and heating trade have changed since he was an apprentice. Great interview though PB really enjoyed it. Thanks

Our Trade is the best in the world!! It’s simple, every house in the country has a Plumbing & Heating system. Being a Plumber you’ll never, ever, be without money & work. Chas is 100% correct, we love to bash successful people in this country, it’s not good.

Apprenticeships doing real working days is the best way, hands down. There should definitely be more push for it.
