I got the opportunity to chat with one of my all time favorite authors, Victoria Schwab, for the finale of her Shades of Magic series, A Conjuring of Light!

I love her response about Narwhals. It was amazing to hear some insight on her writing process, you asked some really insightful questions and i loved the answers. I've only read This Savage Song, and loved it, but now I can't wait to pick up more of her work. Thank you!

This book series was wonderful. I loved every minute of it. Every page. I said on goodreads that it was one of the first series that captured me as much as Harry Potter, and I love that reaching into that childhood feeling was her goal. Also, Kell is a Hufflepuff. My smol bean is in my house and that makes me so happy.

Wow, she's great. And the questions were really good. I learnt a lot more "inside information" from that interview. Currently reading Conjuring of light and I think I'll look at the characters from a bit of a different perspective.

Anyone who ever saw Kell as a Gryffindor... has a _serious_ lack of critical thinking skills. Kell is the most Hufflepuff Hufflepuff to ever Hufflepuff. I love everything about the SoM trilogy except one thing. I don't buy into the Lila/Kell romance. At all. I can't, I want them to just be friends. I haven't read ACoL yet, so I don't know how it ends, but at the moment they feel like they're endgame, and that's really disappointing.

Karkat Vantas in my opinion, their romance very much blossoms in ACOL. i personally didnt see their romance too much until ACOL, but i agree that there is little to no chemistry between the two in the first two books.
