You’re one of the only people who gets it! Your comment was exactly the mindset I had when I built the whole thing. Plus, I eventually drained the pool for the colder winter months and placed a fire pit in the center of that 20 foot round slab with chairs all around. When it gets warm again, I’ll set up the pool. @mikesanchez96543 жыл бұрын
@@johnhuya2277 All I would say is - use your best judgement. Rust issues may never happen to some, but like that old saying - buyer beware! Most manufacturers will point out that their metal part are powder coated. The problem is, the coating is only applied to the outside. When talking about an above ground pool, everything gets wet both inside and out. When water and chlorine get on the inside of those pipes it has no way to dry - so it stays wet . . . and rust begins from the inside out! After just a season or two, you may look at you pool and notice rust - and think "dammit, he said this would happen"!

After my own heart man, I appreciate all of this. I did all of the above, except I used sand not concrete. I also used pavers to hold down the metal legs and couple of yards of pebbles to cover then legs and make the pavers level to the rest of the ground. I also used the Intex salinator, along with a sand filter, and I used the Bluewave pump, 1.5 hsp Levelling the ground is the hardest part, took me days of removing dirt, and adding more sand then I thought I needed. I bought a high end collapsible plastic pool ladder. It was baby safe, as the ladder pulled up and collapsed into itself. I bought the intex valves for attaching the hoses from the pump/sand filter. Rather then using hard piping, which would have been better but I used proper flexible pool pvc. My pool was 16x12 oval. I ran the saltwater 8hrs a day. I also made my own pool vaccum using a .50 micron filter sock. I bought my pool long before the pandemic. Anyways, we didnt own the home at the time so I didnt run electric. I did drive a metal rod into the ground to ground the pump. It ran for 4.5 years no leaks, nothing wrong.

I have that pool and my yard is also sloped quite a bit. I love my pool but the one piece of advice I can give you is MAKE SURE YOUR POOL AREA IS COMPLETELY LEVEL WITHIN 1-2"! Some people will say that is overkill and level within 7" is fine. Don't listen to them. 7" over 32' is a variance of... I don't know, but quite a bit. Thank God so far I have not had a problem, but it still bugs me that I have a high corner and a low corner. Also, consider drainage. After 3 years I would love to drain my pool and fix that level problem, but since I have no direct drain into sewer, I have nowhere to put 14k+ gallons of water. It would take me twice as long to safely drain the pool as it did to fill it. (at least 6 hot dry days) Anyway, these are just things I've come to realize. I hope it helps you.

Wow!! It looks great. I love the set up. Yes I guess because of the time period in which you decided to buy all this that sellers were talking advantage of the buyers, it did come out expensive for just a simple pool but you did an amazing job. I think the concrete was an excellent idea. The sand filter seems complicated but like you said you wanted to make it easier for you on the long run. Enjoy your pool. Still, I love your set up.

You did a great job. Thanks for all the information. I really enjoyed the the way you set up the pump and electrical. The video was very helpful. Can you do a video on how to set up the pump with the ground. Thanks.

You have a very beautiful pool set up. I think the money is worth the finished product as well as any hassle that could have been prevented as you mentioned with the screenshots. I would love to hear about the filter and the steps you took to build it for future reference. My family and I are preparing to purchase a temporary pool for the summer but we are planning to eventually get a permanent pool and your video is really selling me on a permanent above-ground pool.

I just ordered a 20X52 intex above ground pool for this summer of 2024 gonna just set it up as best as I can to use for now ( which I have been getting the ground ready / leveled 🥴🤦🏻♂️ before it arrives in a week 🥴 by using a skid steer and a compactor 🥴 this “construction stuff” is no joke 🥵 especially in this Texas heat 🥵🌞 for 51 year old guy who’s use to working M-F in a cold AC office 😬🥶 ) …. then come fall take it down and get that concert slab poured like yours and have it ready for summer of 25 🤗 …. Years back one time I had that bubble intex pool like in this video and you are correct on all you said especially the weeds grass growing at the base and cutting it maintaining it same as the pump intex provides which is trash thanks a lot for your videos on your above ground pool set up, one of the best on utube if not the best 👍👍 which I use as a go to for setting up my pool 🙂

This man wasn't PLAYING!!! This is one serious pool set-up. Very,very proud to see so much thought that went into this. On the flip side...I'm intimidated in buying a pool now... 😂. I can'tt create this.

Super great video that allows others not to spend even more. I have had issues with those Intex pools as well. I'm sold on not doing it on the cheap but rather take the time and "do it right." Thank you.

Mike, I have to compliment you on the extremely professional work you did. Did you spend a lot, yes and you could’ve bought a slightly smaller filter/pump/tank but everything is so top notch I was wishing I had you to make my pool area look like that lol.I like how you made your deck strong enough to drive a truck across. Your upgraded steel ladder is very cool too. 🤙🤙🤙

Awesome job, and love the towel bars on the deck, great idea
@ferencungvari30893 жыл бұрын
i love your solution. Two tips for 100% perfection of this setup: 1.: noise insulation for the pump, possibly place it below ground, tho i am not familiar with the allowed maximal vertical displacement between your waterfall and pump, a box with insulation should also do it too 2.: it would look lovely to see the waterfall sprinkling out from below the deck from a sort of hidden position Great job regardless!

What a wealth of information for my research, thank you! I'm saving this video in case I choose to go with an above ground pool.

The attention to detail, the craftsmanship, the patience and knowledge in this video is insane! To do it to a cheap blowup pool is mind boggling. Cement pad alone is worth 30 of those pools! It’s like building a 2 storey, 2 car heated garage for a moped! The water clarity in itself is pristine, so not only the effort to build all of this but the maintenance is obviously on par with the rest of the work. I’m honestly baffled. Couldn’t finish watching the video, hurt too much.
@mikesanchez96543 жыл бұрын
Actually you are incorrect. Due to Covid-19 in the summer of 2020, prices for above ground pools skyrocketed because factories were shut down . . . .and the lowest price I could find for ANY 18 foot diameter pool was this Easy Set for $1,500 on Amazon. So, not 30 pools for the price of the slab just 3. And, had you watched the follow-up video to this one (which you obviously didn't), your comments would probably be different - if you left one at all. Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't consult you for advise before I spent my hard earned money on a backyard project, what was I thinking!

@@mikesanchez9654 First of all my comments where just my opinion, no need to get snarky. If you post on a social platform be prepared for criticism. Secondly in my comments I commended you for your work, craftsmanship and knowledge and went on to compliment you on the maintenance as well. Not sure where you live but I was in the market for an above ground pool last summer and a 12’x24’x48” installed was going around 10k. I opted for a hot tub instead since I’ll get much more use out of it up here in Canada with the cold weather. My point was just that it seems like a waste of hard earned money to spend on a pool that will last you a short period of time. Sorry I’ve upset you, wasn’t my intention.

@@lits5984 I understand, my apologies. On the subject of why I did what I did and the pool I chose, again, if you had watched my follow up video to this one - everything is explained.
