I wouldn't be surprised if the term of 'getting fired!' or 'you're fired!' in a job context maybe came from what those Japanese imperials did, or anybody did in the dark sections of history. A lot of sayings and phrases have some dark historical roots, or in some strange historical roots. I mean we got Santa Claus for the Christmas Eve celebrations, which came from Paganism for example.
