Into the Abyss: Worlds of the Deep (Official Trailer)

In this collaborative film series, I am working with Schmidt Ocean Institute and their extensive library of 4K footage from an array the deep sea's remarkable ecosystems to bring their discoveries to light through a series of immersive films. Below are the episodes in order (subject to change).
1 - The Twilight Zone
2 - The Midnight Zone
3 - The Abyssal Plain
4 - Seamounts and Canyons
5 - Hydrothermal Vents
I will also release two compiled films combining the midwater episodes and the sea floor episodes:
1 - Into the Abyss: The Midwater World (Full Movie)
2 - Into the Abyss: The Deep Sea Floor (Full Movie)
Schmidt Ocean Institute is a non-profit oceanographic research foundation that has been pioneering deep-sea research and discovery since 2009, on board their old vessel RV Falkor and their brand new RV Falkor (too), the most advanced marine research vessels in the world. Their remotely operated vehicle (ROV) SuBastian is equipped with a suite of sensors and a 4K camera that has illuminated the depths and live-streamed dives around the world.
All footage shown is filmed and provided by Schmidt Ocean Institute. Huge thank you to them for allowing me to access their footage, and work alongside them to create this series! Check out their website: schmidtocean.org/

This makes me incredibly happy - I really hope you enjoy the episodes when they’re out! :) And as for studying marine biology, is that something you hope to do in future at higher education? Because if so, I can’t reccomend it enough!!! And if you should ever need advice, please let me know. I’m studying marine biology at University in the UK at the moment, going into my 3rd year.

I'm planning on going back for a master's degree in Zoology, though I may go back for another degree in Marine Biology. It's a topic I've always been fascinated with.

I have to thank you a lot I have suffered from thalassaphobia since lots of years and even rehabilitation didn't help with it. Two years ago I discovered your channel, normally deep sea videos scares me but something about your video pulled me into it. And as I watched and watched, the things that normally make me skip a heart beat start to seem normal. I realised how facinating deep sea can be, and thanks to you now my thalassaphobia is completely cured. You probably didn't know but you just treated a patient :) Again, thank you so much for making content to us

hi leo, by far one of the most exceptional documentaries I've watched in a long time. From the production, the depth of the knowledge shared, the music and the narrative. Keep up the great work. I hope this develops and continues to grow. A lot of this is on a par with the BBC series planet earth/blue earth. These documentaries always pose interesting question around how these unique ecosystems can be used to find new solutions for cures and management of diseases. I hope one day these can use to find solutions to a lot of problem we face as humans inhabiting a earth we are slowing destroying.

Everything about these videos screams perfection, the storytelling the visuals, the music, everything perfectly collaborates together to produce nothing short of a masterpiece that leaves you in sheer awe of the wonders of nature,, the diversity of the world we live in never ceases to baffle me. Im so glad long form content like this exists, our attention spans need a whole arse renovation and this channel does exactly that.
