Acrylic Pour Painting on 24x24 Canvas, Fantasy Ring Pour Technique in Contrasting Payne's Gray, Pearl, Deep Turquoise and Gold!
Hello Friends!
Today Im Color Testing more Golden's Paints; Deep Turquoise, Permanent Violet Deep and the Iridescent Gold and Iridescent Pearl. I love the way these paints have behaved so far.
I really wanted to stretch out a ring pour to see how the colors hold the rings and how they blend. I used colors that had a lot of contrast, to see how they react and move together.
My Colors are::
Golden's
~ Deep Turquoise
~Paynes Gray
~Permanent Violet Deep
~Iridescent Pearl
~Iridescent Gold Deep Fine
My Pouring Medium is
Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish
Water
Floetrol
I love how this piece stretched and moved and opened up beautifully.. it reminds me of deep warm water in Maui, a place I love.
Since I kept my paint fairly thick, the rings kept their shape even though I stretched this out a lot.
When I brought it back into my drying shed I looked at it more closely and decided that I needed to change the composition a bit. I poured what was left in my cup into the center and tilted off one corner. I stretched it out even more then, and some beautiful cells started showing up. I did not get the little pearl cells from this gold paint.
I hope you enjoyed this one, please let me know what you think in the comments!
If you want to see more examples of my artwork you can see them at Mina Villegas Art on Facebook

thanks for watching!
love and light to you all
~Mina .

Have you ever had a canvas fly out of your hands? Sometimes the wind is a factor out there. It really nice to be able to work outside....even if they have been building next door. Your big pour cup is nice.This canvas is small for you! I love gold with any coloriSt makes everything look great!You started me using the Paynes grey now I like it. It's not as harsh as black or even Prussian blue.It's a good tip to use a color you really don't care about to use to help the paint move. I watch these several times because I pick up more. Thanks for yours and your husband's efforts to make these videos. You are appreciated!! :-) :-)

Mina, goddess of painterly light, laughter and all things of loveliness! A gorgeous piece once again. I am up to date; watched all your videos. However, ironically perhaps, I haven't had 'a way with words' (bless you for that reply, I was really chuffed to read it☺️). I am taking a little break from KZfaq. I will still like and share as many as possible, of course. Thank you for EVERYTHING that you do and share⭐. Ttfn👋🐾🐾

Hi Debbie! Sounds like your mix might be too thin, thats why its blending so much. Try a thicker mix for ring pours, you can even try adding a bit of glue to thicken it up. Good luck!

Karen, I started pouring in October of 2018. Before that I couldn't draw a straight line to save my life. I was a succulent landscape designer for commercial properties, I had a job that kept getting delayed and I was very frustrated with the delays. One afternoon I saw Gina DeLuca pour a straight pour and it blew my mind..the next day my job was delayed again and watched more videos and then went to Micheals and bought some canvasses and paint and pouring medium. Painting and mixing and pouring make me so happy, I really do have a love affair with a different color almost every day. Do what you love, what ignites your soul. Dont listen to the haters. You can pour, you just have to try. I wish you the best of luck, I hope you do it. Love and light to you 🥰

Oh please dont feel that way ... I felt all my life like I didn't have a creative bone on my body but since I stumbled upon paint pouring a few months ago I am really amazed with some of the paintings that I, ME ME ,ME have actually created !!! And I'm talking had trouble painting my own nails lack of creativity !!! Hahaha but I am so in love with this art form and I am constantly watching videos ( to the point of falling asleep at night with my phone in hand lol) & taking mental & paper notes and I practically live at the art store lol. There are so many very talented and helpful artists on here such as & especially Mina that will offer encouragement & advice or answer any questions you have. Of course there are also artists who just flat out ignore the questions for some reason or another . But I just kept watching videos and you will find that many many artists on here have totally different paint mixes and styles that it can drive you crazy .... so I decided to pick a few favorites who have always been kind & helpful and do their artwork the way I wish I could do mine and I created a favorites list which you can do just by saving a video that you really like that way you can refer back to the video as many times as you want & easily find it I sometimes watch the video as I'm trying the pour itself like step by step ... you can create any type of playlist you choose ... but I picked my faves and that's who I stick with and I follow their direction whether they are successful or fail here & there doesnt matter because we all do. But just watch & learn and I promise you that you will feel so overjoyed the 1st time you get that special painting that comes out just like you wanted ... it's an amazing feeling. It may or may not happen right away but it will happen. It took me forever to do a successful cloud pour but when I did I was sooo excited I couldn't wait to do it again... or if I am struggling with a certain technique no matter what I do then I know it's time to step back & away from it for a while & go back to what I can do well and it refreshes you & gives you a new perspective on things. Sorry to babble on so long but I just wanted you to know you were not alone in that feeling but you can & will overcome it . Mina is AMAZING !!! She's my art Popeye. Lol. ( because she normally works on such large canvases I giggle & think man that girl is gonna develop some Popeye muscles in no time. Lol. Those larger canvases plus the weight of the paints have got to be a workout for sure. !!! Hahahaha. Anyway as I keep babbling Just dont give up or feel intimidated because if I can do it ANYONE can do it. !!! Lol. Best of luck to you and I truly hope you stick with it & hope to see you with your own channel one day !!!! 😘😘😘😘😘😘😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉.

@MinaVillegasArt
@MinaVillegasArt 4 жыл бұрын
You are in luck, I do have Quinacridone Crimson and Quinacridone Violet! lol What colors would you use with the Crimson? You can always add a bit of black or white to a transparent color to increase opacity, and I think Golden actually makes a product that increases opacity. You can also combine transparent colors with opaque colors in your cup, it gives a very nice look. Too many transparent colors together may not be a great idea, especially if your mix is thin. Try mixing the transparent ones a tiny bit thicker
@biner59
@biner59 4 жыл бұрын
Oh I love Quinn. Violet. I've mixed that with an opaque deep red an a little black to make a burgundy. Haven't used quin. Crimson in a pour but love it with nickel Azo gold and phthalocyanine turquoise as primaries when brush painting.
