@FurorVikingorum any good finish will do, a nice oil finish does well, something like General Finishes arm r seal , is my "go to' oil finish, its a urethane , so its tough and durable

hutchman , i believe its the one made by Hock, available thru Woodcraft

i believe its Cape Forge, however im not quite sure, but i know they have ones almost identical

What wood is he carving it looks very soft would he be able to carve into Mahogany or any other hardwood timber with the same ease? I think not.
