i can relate with alot of what Jackie is saying,like me too i rejected Reformed theology but the Lord just kept showing me stuff from scripture that at the end just challenged me on what i already believed and i had to check my heart and the beliefs i had if they were scriptural, so i kind of started embracing it from that and also got some questions i had answered and seeing and reading scripture going line by line i see things differently than before...and oh il never call myself a Calvinist too lol...

I love theological debates. The reason why is because for the most of us...we grew up with tunnel vision. We grew up in our church ( baptist, methodist, pentecostal, catholic, etc ) never truly experiencing someone else's point of view or there theology. I love this forum because we can all come as Christians and give our inputs. Im actually open to hear what anyone has to say..but when you say it , you better have scripture to back it up. But even with that in mind I do understand that a lot of people quote scripture out of context and that to fully understand a verse you truly have to read the whole book or letter. One thing I am sure we can all agree on is that we could never fully understand God. And it would be wrong for us to try to box him in our finite "wisdom". The comments I have been reading for the most part have been out of love, which is great. I am a big believer of THE CHURCH. In these conversation about different theologies I would also like to share on what we also agree on. I do believe there is 1 God in 3 person. That man sinned and broke the fellowship with God. That God already had a plan of redemption for us and that he SO loved the world he sent his only begotten Son...who is Jesus, the Logos ( the Word) in flesh. And who ever shall believe in him AND confess with your mouth Jesus AS Lord - you shall not perish but be saved have everlasting life. And I TOTALLY believe that we are SAVED through God's GRACE, through FAITH and we cannot earn his Grace...it is a Gift from God to glorify him....Amen?

@1:35 she says something about it being low-key arrogant that she had the power to take the veil away from her own eyes. 2 CORINTHIANS 3:15,16 15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. 16 NEVERTHELESS WHEN IT SHALL TURN TO THE LORD, THE VAIL SHALL BE TAKEN AWAY. Q: According to 2 CORINTHIANS 3:15,16 is the veil taken away before or after turning to the Lord? Is the veil taken away first so that they can then afterwards turn to the Lord or do they turn to the Lord first and then the veil is taken away?

You can't say "I just follow what the text says", but than use the account of Lazarus as an analogy for salvation. The Gospel doesn't present it that way, nor Jesus teach that.
@michaelhill3700
@michaelhill3700 9 жыл бұрын
I can be appreciative of that point; the story of lazarus is not explicitly used in scripture as an analogy for what God does in salvation. But death to lofe imagery is definitely biblical, which is why I don't think using the lazarus resurrection is an overstep. Read ephesians 1 and 2 to get some context, and then focus on 1:20-2:10. The main point of this passage is that in the same way, with the same power that God rose Jesus from physical death, he raises us from spiritual death. As you read, ask yourself, "Do these chapters present my salvation, and even faith itself, as something I contribute to what God has done, or something I'm given?"

A response I've heard to the free will discussion is that (knowing we do have free will) if we didn't have free will, God would've created a bunch of robots with no desires or passions. I don't see that design in the Bible (not saying you implied that, just something I've observed from the Word). He wants us to choose Him and that's why He has given us the extent of free will that he has!
@amarachionwukwe4224
@amarachionwukwe4224 9 жыл бұрын
alittlebitlonger199 I totally agree with you. Free will is the reason there are variations of believes all over the world. People refer to instances where in the Bible God influenced a person's will; e.g. Pharaoh in Exodus. Most people argue that in that context Pharaoh didn't have a free will, since the Bible says God hardened his heart. Well, it is true that the bible says that, but the question is, what does that statement really mean? God is always influencing human's will in every situation. This influence is through His Spirit. That still small voice to turn away from sin. But we always 'will' first and foremost to go in a specified direction and when we reject continually God's plea to turn from our wicked ways, He withdraws from us His Spirit and at that point the heart is hardened, never to repent. Because no one can come to the Son if God does not draw them. God's Spirit is the influence. Note here that God's spirit is that influence...the 'influence' that influences our 'will', if we will. Note again that while there are influences, (including God's influence and that of the devil's) we are completely responsible for how we choose to act towards these influences. And this brings to life that it is by grace that we are saved; it is a gift. However, we must will to be saved and will to accept this free gift. No wonder David prayed earnestly for God not to take His Spirit from him. God bless you all.

God wills all to be saved. If some are saved and some are not saved, predestination cannot be true.
@denzelpeoples2223

It's something called God's revealed will vs. God's secret will. For example, let's use what you brought up about God's will being that we all be saved. This is true because we find it in I Timothy 2, right? But scripture also says (over and over in various places in scripture) that there is a Hell, and people will be in it (in fact a vast majority of people will go to Hell). How can God's will be that no one would perish, but an all-powerful God isn't strong enough to see that everyone in all of history makes it to Heaven? If I Timothy 2 is correct and scriptures about Hell are correct either the Bible has contradictions or there are two types of God will... God's revealed will is what is shown in scripture (God wills no man to perish, we shouldn't lie, be immoral, sin or anything like that) and God's secret will is what actually happens (Christians lie, Christians sin and are immoral, and people end up in Hell.) There's resources available. If you say predestination cannot be true, neither can Christianity based on your explanation. Peace bro.

Denzel Peoples *God does not have a secret will CONTRARY to or in OPPOSITION to His revealed will.* Read that again and meditate on it. THE SPOKEN REVEALED WILL OF GOD is the one that is the truth and what is right because it’s His WORD which He’s given us and so we CAN TRUST IT. ...According to Isaiah 45:19 God has NOT spoken in secret that we should not know: ISAIAH 45:19 19 I HAVE NOT SPOKEN IN SECRET, in a dark place of the earth: I said NOT unto the seed of Jacob, SEEK YE ME IN VAIN: I THE LORD SPEAK RIGHTEOUSNESS, I DECLARE THINGS THAT ARE RIGHT. *There are indeed mysteries of God but His revealed word is not a mystery as He’s chosen to give it to us.* ISAIAH 48:16 16 Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I HAVE NOT SPOKEN IN SECRET from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me. ************************************ ...when reading John 6:40, 1 Timothy 2:4 and 2 Peter 3:9 we need to apply Isaiah 45:19 and know that He’s NOT speaking in secret. We also need to apply Deuteronomy 29:29 and know that this is His REVEALED WILL THAT WE MAY DO IT. ************************************ This is God’s REVEALED will that we can trust and believe because He’s NOT spoken in secret: JOHN 6:40 40 And THIS IS THE WILL OF HIM THAT SENT ME, THAT EVERY ONE WHICH SEETH THE SON, AND BELIEVETH ON HIM, MAY HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE: and I will raise him up at the last day. ************************************ This is God’s REVEALED will that we can trust and believe because He’s NOT spoken in secret: 1 TIMOTHY 2:4 4 Who WILL HAVE ALL MEN TO BE SAVED, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. ************************************ This is God’s REVEALED will that we can trust and believe because He’s NOT spoken in secret: 2 PETER 3:9 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, but that all should come to repentance. *********************************** *If God has another secret will that acts CONTRARY to His REVEALED WILL then we could never trust anything He said and we could never believe anything in His word.* We know that God speaks truth and we know that He does not lie. What if God says do not kill as part of His revealed word to us but secretly He wants us to kill??? We could apply this to everything! What if God in the bible says He’s the Son of God but secretly He’s not??? *If you believe God’s revealed word is CONTRARY to what He keeps secret from us then you have absolutely no basis to trust anything in scripture because God could secretly be desiring something else!* The fact is God’s word HAS BEEN REVEALED to us so we CAN KNOW and as a result we will be held accountable and be without excuse. We will be judged by every Word in the scriptures which is why it is not a mystery. God won’t judge us for something that’s a mysterious secret will past finding out. There are indeed mysterious secrets of God past finding out but His REVEALED WORD is not one of them. That’s why He wants us to read and meditate on His word so He can in fact show us great and mighty things. *IF WE CAN’T TRUST GOD’S WORD THEN IT CAN IN NO WAY BE OUR AUTHORITY because we would never really know what God was saying or if He was secretly saying the exact opposite.* *It’s the devil himself that doesn’t want us to know.* God on the other hand desires that we know everything He’s revealed to us.

God chose all but we choose to refuse Him. It doesn't make sense that God chose some to go to heaven and some not to. His will is for all of us to make it in but when His spirit draws us to come to him we refuse Him.

Eddison Thomas Romans 9 has nothing to do with salvation. Look at the referenced old testament scriptures in Romans 9. Paul is talking about the Jews and why God chose them as His chosen people.
@eddisonthomas2874
@eddisonthomas2874 10 жыл бұрын
Shannon Chiles hey brethren God's blessings on you um the reason why I pointed to romans 9 is to draw reference to vs 14 to 23 where God takes action to glorify himself he shows mercy on whom he shows mercy the chapter really outlines God's sovereignty even down to the end of the chapter it out lines the process by which the gentiles received righteousness as opposed to the Jews. So I was just brining some clarity to the folks on why I chose romans 9 which is a very relevant scripture in the questions about Gods sovereignty. Have a blessed day brethren remember .......sola scriptura !!!!!
@Godismyvow100
@Godismyvow100 10 жыл бұрын
Eddison Thomas Yes God is truly Sovereign, but if the reformed theology is true, the Word of God is false. 2 Peter 3:9 "9 The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance." If God predetermined who would go to heaven and who would go to hell, those he made as vessels of wrath cannot repent, they cannot be saved. Therefore, God does wish for some to perish, knowing that some cannot repent because they are not God's elect. 1 Timothy 2:1-7 "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man[a] Christ Jesus, 6 who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. 7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth." To get around these scriptures, you would have to do some serious "deductive reasoning", which is a part of Sola Scriptura. Do not lean on your own understanding of the Word of God, or on the understanding of men like John Calvin. Rely on Jesus Christ! Allow Jesus Christ to teach you to truth of His Word, of God's Word by the Holy Spirit. Sit at the feet of Jesus in Spirit and learn from Him. Hold on the Jesus and trust in Him and no one else, not even yourself or your studies. God bless my brother in Christ and hold to the truth of Jesus Christ.

Shannon Chiles This can go on forever with no end because we would both have scripture to back up both our positions however like Jackie said in the vid I don't really refer to it as Calvinism due to the fact that truth excited way before john Calvin was born and I was seeking truth even before I knew who Calvin was honestly lol but to each his own understanding I respect your views...... may God continue to lead us into truth he loves us all

I am new to this and much of is sounds very contradictory... If God truly "desires all to come to repentance." Then he would take the blinders off of everyone, not just some? I mean even WE couldn't come to Him in repentance, He had to choose us and do it... If He chose everyone and did it for them then they would come to repentance too.. Very confusing

Oooh good ol reformed theology.. It has some of the greatest minds and orators of today.. That being said it's obvious that it appeals to the intellect.. Makes you think!.. What I've come to realize is that predestination can go hand in hand with free will.. We were all predestined for GREATNESS!! But most Christians are using Christianity as a crutch and every time something goes wrong we just blame God by saying "well it must have been His will" or "well He works in mysterious ways" "He gives and takes away" (I know the plans I have for you) (I would that none perish but All) also double check the book of job and read carefully God's responses.. We gotta know the word people there is no mystery if you can have the mind of Christ!?!? If we realize that heaven is in us! (The kingdom of heaven is not meat or drink but righteousness,peace, and joy IN the Holy Spirit!!) Then we can actually start living out what God planed out/predestined us to be! We would lay hands on the sick we would share the GOOD news to every creature! Any poisoned drink will not harm us!? The same way people were soo drawn and attracted to Jesus(His kindness leads me to repentance) is the same way people would be drawn to heaven not because of us but Christ in us!!?? Why?? Maybe because we're not afraid to look at the mystery that had been revealed which is CHRIST IN US THE HOPE OF GLORY!! ?? Right I mean that's what my bible says If he knew you before he formed you in your mothers womb but then you die and he says depart from me I never knew you?? Then what happened!!!!?? From the time you were born to the time you died?? Maybe the fact that we did not choose his amazing predestined plan for us?:( maybe all are predestined for heaven?? Kinda like the bible says?? Maybe the word elect is not parallel with the word salvation?maybe election happens after salvation??? C'mon my people perish for there lack of knowledge??!! Do your homework people let's love Him with everything we have! That's the best doctrine I know of cause I believe Jesus mourns for those that are lost to Hell and our hearts should be aching on a daily basis for those that are being lost!!! Our war is not against people it's against hell we are pre ordained by God Himself to to be victorious the enemy might bruise your heel but we will crush his head!! How many Christians are crushing his head on a daily basis?? Psshhhhh not enough

This is so hard. Calvinism messed me up so much, I'm still open to it but what are the chances that this 5 point system is 100% accurate. People who don't agree with all of this are being misunderstood and misrepresented. If I gave you a check to pay your debt and you took it, was it you who paid it? Did you have anything to do with paying that debt if you accepted it? Also I'm not Armenian either and you don't have to be in one of those man made camps. Funny she mentions a human box, Calvinism (I'm not calling it reformed because it doesn't represent all reformers) I'm reformed but I'm not Calvinist or Armenian. I love you guys, no disrespect. I agree with most of this. I think the problem though is that they are reading the text through that lense.

This is the first instance in which The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh. Earlier notices have mentioned his heart's condition (7:13,22;8:19) and recorded Pharaoh did the hardening (8:15,32). The first reference to the Lord's hardening Pharaoh's heart is the prediction in 4:21. 9:13-17 The Lord could have easily have destroyed Pharaoh and his people and army without the plagues or the hardening of Pharaoh's heart (Dan 2:20-21), but these events were designed to show the lord's incomparability (there is none like me in all the earth). God does not create sinful acts in man. We can do that on our own.

The Total Inability passed to us makes it impossible for us to comply with the command to believe in Christ. The most obvious fault with this doctrine is that it makes the gospel an unreasonable demand. How can God, who is perfectly just, "command all men everywhere to repent" (Acts 17:30), knowing the command is impossible to obey?
@WatchShrewdTv
@WatchShrewdTv 10 жыл бұрын
Look at what you just said, scripture "commands" many things that humans cannot do, then why command it? Why would God, the creator of everything, command us to do something that He knew we were incapable of doing. Come on man that just doesn't make sense and isn't scripturally accurate. You can't take certain scriptures and use those scriptures to make your point. No one said that we deserved it, but to say we are incapable of choosing God is FAR fetched. Even if David and Paul said "no man seeks God, no not one" that still doesn't prove that men are incapable of choosing Him. In context that scripture is simple saying that we are all sinners, not that we're incapable of choosing Him because we are in this state of inability. Joshua did say that the people were "not able to serve the Lord" in their present sinful state Repentance was in order. They were called upon to make a choice of the heart and turn from their evil ways. Joshua said, "throw away your foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the Lord, the God of Israel". Nowhere are we left with the impression that these people were all in a state of Total Inability from birth, innately incapable of yielding as Joshua commanded. Such an idea must be read into the text.

So many don't know, it wasn't because of our will, effort, or desire (Rom 9:16; John 1:12-13), if u believe, it's because He caused you (James 1:18; Phil 1:29; John 6:44). titus35.com

@@WatchShrewdTv yes, he commands many things that are impossible for us to do. He said, "Be perfect even as I am perfect." That seems pretty impossible. He gave us the 10 commandments and told us to follow them, and then Jesus came on the scene and told us even thinking about hating a brother or lusting is considered a broken commandment. Why does God do this? Because he wants us to see the impossibility of us reaching a standard high enough to save our selves. He gave us the law so that we might see our need for a savior. Not because he has any expectation that we can follow the law. There aren't scriptures that tell us we have the free will to choose. There just arent. There are TONS OF scriptures telling us that our salvation is God's choosing and it is to fulfill HIS will (Not our free will) starting with ephesians 1. But, all things are possible through christ. It is possible for yiu to "choose christ" Because he chose you first. He raised you from the dead and made yiu born again so you could choose him. That's why they gave the Lazarus example. There was nothing, NOTHING lazerus could do to become alive again. Why? He's was a dead man incapable of anything. There is nothing, NOTHING we can do to choose christ. Why? We are dead in sin incapable of anything including belief. Just like the power of christ had to raise lazerus, the power of christ raises us from our spiritual death. And THEN, once we are born again, we choose. So many people think that you belive and decide to follow god and then you are born again. Reformed theology believes God makes yiu born again and then you belive and follow God. It may happen in a split second, but you are born again first and ONLY God can do that. You can't make a choice if youre dead. If you think about it, that's a works based salvation. The work that you are doing is choosing to believe. It's something YOU did that somebody else didn't do. It makes your salvation a little bit reliant on what YOU do. It may only be .000005%, but it still is a works based theology

I love what she said about seeing Jesus the most beautiful being in the universe and I would add the most beautiful being that EXIST period..is irresistible. The scriptures say “Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.” ‭‭I John‬ ‭3:6‬ ‭NKJV What sin is John talking about right there because we all know that saints still sin and struggle with sin..the sin spoken of in this verse is speaking of the sin that rejects and turns away from God indefinitely and thus parishes forever Because it has never seen or known Him. The scriptures holds that the one who sees Christ in His true identity as revealed by the Spirit through the word will never parish but He is their life and that God given sight of Him is life giving and transforming and that by His Spirit (see 2 Corinthians 3:16-18) This beautiful!!! See also what Christ said to Peter after He spoke of the true identity of Christ as Jesus asked Him who do you say that I am, Peter said “you are the Christ the Son of the living God” Jesus said “blessed are you Simon son of Jonah for flesh and blood (humans) has not revealed this to you but my Father in heaven. And I say you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it”. Won’t prevail against what? Was He building His church on a man (Peter)..no way!Jesus was speaking of the revelation of Himself. That is the blessing that is the power to kill sin for whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world.

I am wondering this, why does John 3:16 say “For God so loved THE WORLD he gave his only begotten son. That WHOSOEVER believes in him will never die but have eternal life.” If salvation is not for WHOSOEVER, then why does the Bible say that? If God sent his only begotten son for THE ELECT AND PREDESTINED then why does the scripture say the WORLD? Not arguing, but some genuine questions I ask myself regarding reformed theology.

The majority of those who call themselves “born-again” believers have no clue what Calvinism or Arminianism is, I’ve been a Christian for many years now, and I never thought about the details, although I’ve always believed that the human condition is completely corrupted and God’s redemption is 100% His work. The only issue I had was to consider “accepting Jesus’s sacrifice” a “deed”...it’s like saving someone from drowning and then he tells you “if I hadn’t given you my hand you couldn’t have possibly saved me, so I helped save myself.” That makes no sense. Still analyzing reformed theology, here. I’ve been to one church. I don’t know about other reformed Churches, but it seems it’s easier to meet people there, I find them more Christ-Like...maybe I’m wrong, but I speak from experience. At the only two churches that I’ve attended in my life, it’s taken me years to make friends (part of it is me, I guess). But I love how Calvinists (or Reformed) Christians actually care about you. 😉

Next point: if you die in a state of mortal sin (turning fully away from Him and doing it with full conscience) if you die in a state of grace then you go to heaven.

The type of grace you're talking about covers believers and in reformed theology we believe that God will perservere us to the end so there is no turning away from God and doing it with full conscience.

But.......why why then would God create such hateful hideous beings such as us and then hate us so much at the same time, if what you are saying is true. Could it be that He actually loves us all so much that He would create us knowing it would be a crazy hard thing to come to Him and repent but it was worth it just to save the ones who want to be saved? Could it be that it was the only way for us to be with Him in eternity? He wants every single human to choose Him. He already called us. He will let the ones burn in hell that don’t want Him but He saves and chooses the ones who do want God to take over their life.

id like to start of by first saying thanks for allowing comments. First Just because someone is depraved or hates God dosent mean that they still cant choose what is right.Take an atheiest for example though hes unregenerated and unsaved yet he still has the laws of God in his conscience and heart. example if he sees someone trying to harm his child he will without doubt defend or even protect his child. this same atheist though hes unregenerate knows that its wrong to even kill or do harmful things unto his child though hes evil.Why is that you ask? simply because God has placed his laws in the conscience and hearts of all mankind allowing them to chose to obey it or not though there unsaved or unregenerate..rom 2;15Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)ROMANS 1:20For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: SO IF A DEPRAVED MAN KNOWS HOW TO CHOOSE WHATS RIGHT HOWS IS IT THAT HE CANT CHOSE THE MAKER OF WHATS RIGHT? THE ANSWER IS HE CAN . SECONDLY... THOUGH GOD HARDEN PHARAOHS HEART IT WAS SIMPLY BECAUSE PHARAOH HARDEN HIS HEART FIRST EXODUS 8:32And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.PHAROAH WAS GIVEN OVER TO REPROBATION AS DESCRIBED IN ROMANS BECAUSE THEY DIDNT WANT TO ACKNOWLEDGE GOD IN THERE THOUGHTS OR ACTIONS SO HE GIVES THEM OVER TO A REPROBATED MIND OR OVER TO THERE LUSTS AS PHARAOH WAS DEPICTED .WE HAVE TO REPENT AND BE VERY CAREFUL THAT WE DONT CALL A PERVERTED VIEW OF GOD THAT WAS GIVEN FROM MERE MEN THAT ARE IDOLIZED AS HIM BEING SOVEREIGN.

I love my Calvinist brothers and sisters but I'm certain to say that Calvinism is the say all be all theology is "low key arrogant" the truth of the matter, as the bible teaches, you know...in a way that doesn't make God a hypocrite or liar like John Calvin did. Is that he does do it. God gives us faith. God opens our eyes. God gives us the Holy Spirit and God draws all to himself through the crucifixion of Christ. Which is mentioned in the scripture. Hence the other statement. Many are called but few are chosen. Because God has commanded all people everywhere to repent. And the gospel is to be preached to all. But not all will listen. Not all will follow. Not that they don't have the ability. Not that they do not realize the truth by the grace of God but because they loved the idea of indulging in sin more. Much like Satan did though he knew the truth. I'm not Armenian or Calvinist. There is a happy and biblical medium. Until your theology can be supported by the whole of scripture it is not correct. And some things we teach as theology aren't even mentioned in scripture and shouldn't be taught as truth anyway. But that's another discussion. But I love Jackie. She seems to me to be a genuine sister in Christ! Be blessed

Whether reformed or not you believe that. If you believe the Bible and you believe God will be glorified in the end and you believe people will be in Hell, then God is glorified for people "burning in Hell for eternity". He's holy and just and the unholy and unjust will be punished for that. And we should rejoice in His glory. Not that we rejoice over people dying, but that's why we evangelize so people won't have to face that.

Pharaoh hardened his heart. God know that pharaoh wouldn't repent,that no matter what God did to him that he wouldn't obey God. so God allowed him to become king of Egypt knowing that God's mighty hand would be shown in the land because of the kings lack of fear of God. therefore God did give him chance after chance with the judgments to get him to let the people go but he never did so Pharaoh hardened his own heart God bringing it to pass. if we say that God was to blame in causing him to have a hard heart, we are saying God wants to send people to hell, but the Bible is clear he doesn't. it's like saying get a rich man saved who only wants money no matter what. that rich man and reject Christ until his death, he would have in turn harden his own heart and doed in his sin, even though God has used a Christian to reach him.

read all of the situation. Read the totality of the situation. The more Pharaoh hardened his own heart the more Judicially God hardened Pharaoh's heart. Free will exists. Free will does not take away God's soveriegnty we wouldnt have free will without God giving it to us. Look at all of the passages on repent and believe in the Gospel. There is an implied action on the unbeliever. God saves through the Work of Christ on the Cross. We cant do the work we have to trust and put our faith in Chrit. We do have the ability to accept or reject. Look at the thieves on either side of Christ. One mocked one repented and belived in Christ and who he was. Or did God orchestrate that? If Calvinism is true, then why did satan rebel in the first place?
@denzelpeoples2223
@denzelpeoples2223 7 жыл бұрын
I'll try to reply to your comment in it's totality. Firstly, I think what you're saying is based off of a lot of assumption. When you read the passage in Exodus, it never says "The more Pharaoh hardened his own heart the more judicially God hardened Pharaoh's heart". It simply says, the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart. What you said is a little bit of a reach lol. Secondly, God's sovereignty, as a term, exists biblically. The Bible doesn't mention this so-called "free will". It's just not a concept the Bible addresses. It think that makes it not biblical, because you can't find it in the book. And I'm not saying that people don't repent and believe the Gospel, or even that humans don't play a part in our salvation; it's just that when you look at passages like Romans 8:28-39, Ephesians 1:3-14, II Thessalonians 2:13-14, II Timothy 1:9-10, and so many other places we see that God is calling us BEFORE the foundation of the world, chosen and set apart BEFOREHAND. These things are not just happening and taking God by surprise. He planned them. He planned for us to chose Him. A good reference to this is, again, the Egyptian Pharaoh. If we look at Romans 9:17-24, we see Paul saying about Pharaoh "“For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills." God hardened Pharaoh's heart; it's undeniable. But, why? Because He does what He wants so that His power might be proclaimed in the earth. God's glory is the purpose; God's sovereignty is how that purpose is manifested. (I also think this applies to your question about Satan.) Lastly, it's not about Calvinism or Arminianism or any theological persuasion being true; it's about God and His Son, our Christ being true. This is just some secondary theological talk that we have. I don't care about Calvin. I care about Christ, and seeing Him glorified.

@@Sheff313 in the text we see three things. God hardened pharoh's heart, pharoh hardened his own heart, pharoh's heart was hardened. You are assuming God hardened his heart BECAUSE pharoh hardened first. But Romans 9 uses Pharoh as an example of people that God soverignty created for wrath. That was his purpose. Just like Judas was purposed to sell Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. It was the plan of God for these men to be against God and it was his plan from the beginning. When speaking about Pharoh in Romans God says he makes some vessles for glory and others to wrath. Then he days he will have mercy on who he wants and HE will harden who he wants. You have to apply this scripture as a lens when your reading about pharoh in the old testement. Romans 9 is explaining it. How can you possibly deny that pharoh was created for destruction and God hardened his heart after reading Romans?

I enjoy Perry ministrie but I must disagree. It's TRUE that know one wants God and seeks after Him because of our nature.God seeks after us by the preaching of his word but scripture is clear that it is conditional upon once responding to his word.you are to believe (trust...deny yourself recieve repent the word of God is full of choices Romans 10:14 and convicts us of our Sin by the Holy Spirt John 16:8..no where does the bible state that we are incapable of choosing and just because you can answer does not mean you Saved yourself...God's plan of Salvation is His not Ours...But you must believe ..I find that this belief system tends to pollute God's Love

Predestination is a false doctrine created by satan himself, to keep believers in sin, up on till the return of Christ, for those who live by this dogma, the only thing they will receive in the end, is " I never knew you" because light was revealed and we chose darkness rather than light. I pray that my brothers and sisters wake up, and study the scriptures to show yourselves approved.
