Thanks for the informative video. Just noticed one thing, I think the "sides" on the reference line got swapped places @ 11:43 / 37:38 of this video. I believe the "Arrow side" would be under the reference line and the "Other side" would be above the reference line.

GREAT VIDEO. Question: at 35:00, it's telling me to weld 9/16 penetration... that's over 1/2 an inch, (I am still learning) but can someone tell me how one would even achieve that deep of penetration? I feel dumb asking this...

Are the codes universal, I'm from the UK are the codes the same throughout the world or just for the US?
@gpacex4 жыл бұрын
The codes are not universal. Here is a website with a list of welding codes and the organizations that author the codes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_welding_codes

Arrow side and Other Side gets swapped up at 11:43

Yeah it is messed up at that point. Too late to fix it - it has been messed up for ten years too big of a pain to fix it.

How to define welding dimension for different thickness of plate
@kxrider70 Жыл бұрын
At 11:47 it saids that anything above the reference line is on the other side and anything below is on the arrow side. But the example does not match that……
@gpacex Жыл бұрын
Yeah I know i messed up, but to fix it would be a pain in neck. So it stays as it has been up there for damned near a decade. Sorry about that.

Learned a few things but some slides went by quickly with no commentary. Also I hope I never hear about staggered fillet welds again as that was repeated ad nauseam. Thanks!

This is a great video for someone just starting out. However, it seems a little confusing with a few misleading things that were probably incorrectly posted. I really like the video though!
@ANGKORIAN2o93 жыл бұрын
At 11:20 Statements are correct but illustration is incorrect. Above reference line should be "other side" and below reference line should be "arrow side."
@gpacex3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know - I messed up - but to go back and change it is bigger pain that it is worth - sorry about the mistake in there -

Arrow side and other side needs to be flipped also ur spacing is wrong at 21:37
@richardhorrax55613 жыл бұрын
No they are not wrong if you have ever done construction you would know that outside to inside is the same as center to center. Or in this case start to start is the same dimension as center to center for intermittent welds of the same length
@chandramaulisharma58184 жыл бұрын
dont know how to measure 9/16 thing little still confused?

To much Redundancy. Also 11.20-thru-11.49 show arrow and other side in wrong locations.

Too much adds man, i get you want to get as much for it but dude, this makes me not want to support you guys and use add block all the time. It takes away from the learning when after ever 3 min, there are double adds.

That is a Google KZfaq thing - I make a grand total of about 600$ a year on this stuff - 3/4 of a tank of gas a month. That said thanks for the feedback and watching.
