bti has successfully set up and commenced production of environment-friendly concrete hollow blocks. This is the latest venture in our quest for backward linkage integration.
As Bangladesh moves ahead to become a middle-income country, many of the traditional practices of construction are changing. Emphasis on saving our natural gas resource and to also become more environment-friendly is an important objective for the construction industry. Traditional building products like burnt clay bricks now need to be replaced by more economic and environment-friendly substitutes.
With the future in mind we have started bti building products an independent SBU of our company with the aim of producing high quality and environment friendly building products.
Vide this letter we present to you some relevant information about our concrete hollow blocks.
Concrete hollow block is composed of local sand, crushed stone, Sylhet sand and cement.
All the materials are mixed in a hopper and then run through a conveyor belt. Hydraulic Pressure is applied on a vibration platform to create the solid hollow blocks. The hollow blocks are then left to dry under sunlight for “curing”.
Initially we are producing these blocks for use in internal non load bearing partition walls only; however, these can also be used for external walls and on the rooftop for heat protection.
