@@flyingfrogofdeath9616 the op-1 now costs 1,300$ if I remember correctly, and people forget the it’s biggest advantage is being PORTABLE, and it is built around it. The new one is free from almost all the limitations that the old one had. If you’re planning on using it in a house set up, then it is way too expensive, you could get better gear for less the price (if you have a daw) But considering the fact that this is a STAND ALONE device with everything you need in it, I personally this that it is worth the price. @flyingfrogofdeath96162 жыл бұрын
@@talmeirav3862 I'm sure it is mate but $2000 is insane for a single portable synth, no matter how powerful/useful it is. Don't want to turn this into a privilege/class thing but we, and many other people, clearly have a very different perception of money. I am a big synth enthusiast and have been for a couple of years now, despite not being poor now, I certainly was growing up and I understand the value of money. (Even now, I have a fairly decent job but I am far from loaded to most people, don't even think I earn the average wage but compared to my childhood it's amazing, I've only had this job for a year, I have lived in first world "poverty" 99% of my life. I understand people have it much worse than me and despite the struggles I have faced, everyday I am astounded at how lucky I am to be poor in a first world nation as opposed to a third world or developing nation) To me a new Range Rover may have all the bells and whistles and be a great all-weather vehicle but I don't think I'd ever be able to get past how much money it truly costs, having survived my entire childhood from birth to 18 years with a total household income less than a new range rover. I guess it's more of a perception/background thing but I couldn't justify the price myself. To this day, I tear broken electronics apart for components, draw up schematics and source other components I don't have and build my own synths' as well as repairing old, broken ones. I would love to have one one day but I can't pretend that I truly think it is "Worth it" if that makes sense. Heck when I got my first decent paycheck I celebrated by taking my family out for a meal, cost £110 and I felt like a king. The only thing that made it worth it was having a good time with my family. This price is just crazy to me personally but again, guess it just depends on your personal understanding and relationship with the concept of money. You see $2000 price tag for a synth for freedom and lack of limitations on the old iteration and being able to make music on the go; I see over a year's worth of food, bulk rice, fresh market fruit and veg as and when, decent protein; mostly tinned tuna, chicken breasts for the occasional treat and fresh fish if it was on offer, bulk porridge oats, milk as and when needed bulk instant black coffee, years worth of multi-vitamins for ~£15 on Amazon to cover the days I may not get all my nutrients in. Lived like that for two years. Not even convinced it cost me that much for food for the year.

That price is an insult to musicians everywhere. Like the BoM (Bill of materials) for this thing couldn't be more than $100, and most of the software development was already done, so HOW THE HELL do you justify charging $2400USD for this thing? Just DIGUSTING unbridled greed, and it makes me sick.
